The TST Preventive Therapist is responsible for the provision of clinical and case management services to families with children who have been exposed to traumatic events and are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems as a result. The TST therapist works to strengthen the relationship between the child/ren and their caretakers and social environment with the goal of restoring safety, attachment and appropriate affect. The therapist works closely with the supervisor and model consultant to insure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with model fidelity and the standards of ACS and SCO Family of Services. We offer strong supervision, robust professional development and the opportunity to learn Trauma Systems Therapy, an evidence based model of practice. Responsibilities include: Partner with families to provide assessment, treatment planning, interventions and case management to prevent foster care and promote wellbeing Learn the Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) treatment model by participating in TST training, coaching and case consultation. Adhere to fidelity of the TST model: Work within model structure regarding case contacts, interventions, supervision, documentation and length of treatment. Participate in weekly TST Team Meetings. Work collaboratively with the treatment team including Case Aide, Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioner and legal advocate. Conduct regular home and office visits, and other field visits as needed. Provide clinically focused case management including advocacy and referral. Assess safety and risk and implement crisis management plans and safety plans as needed. Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to insure their buy-in and cooperation throughout treatment, including schools, and other service providers. Schedule and participate in conferences with families, community partners and ACS using the Family Team Conferencing (FTC) model. Complete all required documentation and data entry within deadlines including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans and closing summaries. Utilize mobile technology to complete documentation. Attend individual supervision and all necessary meetings and trainings. Demonstrate strong sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity. Being assessable to families on a 24-hour basis by keeping an open line of communication. Commit to being an active contributor to the vision and mission of the program. Work to create and support a respectful learning environment. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Master of Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling or related field with commitment to obtaining license. 1-2 years of clinical experience, in trauma-informed practice preferred. Comfortable with group supervision and commitment to work on professional development goals to improve adherence. Bilingual Spanish a plus. Evening hours required. Excellent organizational, written and oral skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Salary: $63,000

JOB SUMMARY The Therapy Extender plans, develops and implements individual and group non-skilled interventions to improve the functioning of patients diagnosed with a variety of physical, cognitive, communication, social emotional and developmental needs. The Therapy Extender performs a variety of departmental and interdepartmental tasks in order to ensure the successful provision of rehabilitation services related to mobility, communication, leisure, technology and health and wellness. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to tolerate up to four hours of consecutive work. Endurance for up to one and one-half hour periods of constant sitting and one-hour periods of independent mobility. Ability to safely transfer patients and provide contact guarding or hands-on assistance. Ability to lift or carry objects up to 10 pounds continuously, to 20 pounds frequently, to 40 pounds frequently for patient transfer. Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the day for patient transport and mobility activities. Frequent need to initiate body positional changes to access equipment from high and low areas and while providing treatment interventions. Functional fine and gross motor skills and upper extremity sensation needed. Intact vision needed for observation of patient's non-verbal responses and skin assessment. Must be able to initiate and interpret communication with patient and others. Ability to tolerate submersion in up to shoulder-depth water from 1-3 hours. COGNITIVE DEMANDS Job requires the application of previously acquired knowledge. It also requires flexibility of thought, reasoning, organizational skills and the ability to act in some new or unfamiliar situations. Selective attention and concentration are necessary to complete tasks. Ability to report patient response, reaction and behavior through written and oral communication. Job Description

The TST Preventive Therapist is responsible for the provision of clinical and case management services to families with children who have been exposed to traumatic events and are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems as a result. The TST therapist works to strengthen the relationship between the child/ren and their caretakers and social environment with the goal of restoring safety, attachment and appropriate affect. The therapist works closely with the supervisor and model consultant to insure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with model fidelity and the standards of ACS and SCO Family of Services. We offer strong supervision, robust professional development and the opportunity to learn Trauma Systems Therapy, an evidence based model of practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with families to provide assessment, treatment planning, interventions and case management to prevent foster care and promote wellbeing
  • Learn the Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) treatment model by participating in TST training, coaching and case consultation.
  • Adhere to fidelity of the TST model: Work within model structure regarding case contacts, interventions, supervision, documentation and length of treatment.
  • Participate in weekly TST Team Meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with the treatment team including Case Aide, Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioner and legal advocate.
  • Conduct regular home and office visits, and other field visits as needed.
  • Provide clinically focused case management including advocacy and referral.
  • Assess safety and risk and implement crisis management plans and safety plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to insure their buy-in and cooperation throughout treatment, including schools, and other service providers.
  • Schedule and participate in conferences with families, community partners and ACS using the Family Team Conferencing (FTC) model.
  • Complete all required documentation and data entry within deadlines including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans and closing summaries.
  • Utilize mobile technology to complete documentation.
  • Attend individual supervision and all necessary meetings and trainings.
  • Demonstrate strong sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
  • Being assessable to families on a 24-hour basis by keeping an open line of communication.
  • Commit to being an active contributor to the vision and mission of the program.
  • Work to create and support a respectful learning environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Master of Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling or related field with commitment to obtaining license.
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience, in trauma-informed practice preferred.
  • Comfortable with group supervision and commitment to work on professional development goals to improve adherence.
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus.
  • Evening hours required.
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Salary: $63,000
