Job Description
Job Description Summary
The Operations Manager directly reports to the reports to the System Administrative Officer of the Cellular Therapy ICCE. Under limited supervision, the Operations Manager provides credible/reliable, consistent, standardized and integrated analyses of contribution margin for the ICCE, operational support and project management. This position is an integral operational partner and collaborates with the ICCE SAO, ICCE Chief, and other ICCE leaders in the implementation of various system-wide enterprise initiatives. The Operations Manager serves as a strategic resource for the ICCE Chief, ICCE SAO, and other ICCE leaders by assisting with preparation and operationalizing of system plans, including the interpretation of market and operational analyses and through the creation of implementable operational/project plans. Additionally, the Operations Manager will participate in the content development for Performance Excellence Committee (PEC), Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) reviews, and other committee meetings and presentations as needed, and will assist in monitoring both the operational and financial activities of the ICCE on an ongoing basis across the health system. Lastly, the Operations Manager will act as the operational liaison to various support services and will directly manage special projects as assigned by the ICCE leadership.A master’s degree and commensurate experience and/or a minimum of five years of relevant experience is required. A master's degree in hospital administration, healthcare administration, business administration, public health or a related graduate level degree is preferred. Relevant experience includes a position of significant operational responsibility in a medical hospital, ambulatory clinic or related institution is required. Knowledge of operations, labor management, strategic planning, budgeting, project planning and satisfaction performance reporting systems and methodologies required. Proven ability to research, gather, synthesize and organize information to produce concise analyses using various resources. Understanding of external regulatory requirements and effective compliance assurance methods preferred. Experience with matrixed leadership organizations, LEAN/Six Sigma and project management techniques is strongly desired. Deep and expansive knowledge of both physician productivity and margin per service of physicians.
Proven ability to anticipate and manage cause-and-effect relationships. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate complicated policies and procedures and analytical information to a wide variety of audiences. Position must use discretion in handling a wide range of confidential information.

Project Management (50%)
- In collaboration with Cellular Therapy ICCE leadership, assist with projects and initiatives to further the strategic mission and goals of MUSC Health
- Initiate and manage projects which aid in coordination and development of operational efficiencies
- Demonstrate facilitative leadership skills in managing projects across multiple entities
- Manage the development and launching of new cancer clinics across the state
System & Operational Planning (20%)
- Collaborate with local, divisional, and system resources to help achieve health system business goals
- Identify and implement best practices and processes to improve efficiencies and standardization across all Oncology sites leading to improved financial performance, patient experience, quality, and employee engagement
- Participate in the development of plans to support growth of revenue and referrals
- Collaborate with respective Quality & Safety leader to support quality improvement efforts and achievement of accreditation
- Collaborate to ensure highest level of quality, safety, and regulatory requirements are met
Financial & Performance Management (30%)
- Develop business plans and proformas for projects across the health system
- Participate in development of financial/operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), regularly monitor scorecards, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Participate in the content development for Performance Excellence Committee (PEC), Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) reviews, and other committee meetings and presentations as needed
- Monitor both the operational and financial activities of the Cancer ICCE on an ongoing basis across the health system.
