The Juvenile Justice Initiative Psychiatric Program, with SCO Family of Services consists of a small team of mental health professionals. The MST-Psych team provides mental health treatment as well as family therapy to families and youth living in the Bronx and Manhattan. Our mission is focused on helping youth and their families gain the necessary tools and skills to reduce hospitalizations and further court involvement while strengthening the family system. This community-based clinician provides in home counseling to adjudicated youth and their families 2-3 times per week. Youth referred to the program range from 9 to 17 years old, have moderate to serious mental health challenges, and live in the Bronx. The therapist uses evidenced based clinical practices to empower youth and families by creating strength-based behavior change that will be sustained long after treatment ends. The MST team strives to keep youths out of the system and keep families together. Field work comprises the majority of the therapist’s time, but additional administrative requirements and supervision are an equally important component of the position. MST therapists are clinically trained in MST and carry a small caseload of approximately 4 to 5 families. The ideal candidate for this position is a clinician grounded in strength-based practices and a social justice advocate. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide in home family counseling, support and crisis intervention to a small case load of 5 families. Treatment is provided in-person and in the family’s home. Conduct MST assessments and adhere to evidenced based clinical counseling modalities. Design cognitive behavioral interventions for youth and families. Collaborate with stakeholders such as schools, DOP, and pro-social programs. Advocate for families by attending court, hospital and other community-based meetings. Update stakeholders with treatment progress. Participate in weekly group supervision and consultation, as well as individual supervision. Complete all required documentation. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team opening a brand new StretchLab studio at Freshfields Village!

You will receive in house training for the Flexologist role (providing one-on-one assisted stretching sessions).This is an amazing opportunity to gain experience in a new modality that is taking the fitness industry by storm. 

Your job will be to support clients in championing healthier and happier lives.  Our goal is to create a studio where you'll thrive & build a community of people who are committed to guiding stretches that are empowering, energizing, and fun! We look for folks who love to build and nurture relationships with clients and help them #LiveLong.

Flexible schedule with recommendation of 6 hours shifts - 20 hours a week minimum

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver one-on-one assisted stretch sessions
  • Encourage and motivate clients throughout stretch sessions
  • Ensure safety of clients in regard to proper stretch techniques and enforce StretchLab policies and safety rules
  • Build StretchLab membership and retain current clientele
  • Attend staff meetings and required educational presentations
  • Handle member concerns when applicable
  • Assist sales associates and General Manager with studio tour and sales as needed
  • Maintain strong social media presence for client membership, interaction, and retention
  • Clean and maintain all equipment to ensure it is available for client use at any given time

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Love of boutique fitness environment
  • A passion for stretching, mobility and flexibility
  • Ability to create a positive environment that welcomes all people
  • Love of connecting with people and have passion for helping them achieve goals
  • Must have a professional work ethic, be reliable, and adhere to our attendance policies
  • Availability to go through our 3-day Flexologist Training Program, which includes 20 hours of online tutorials and 3 days of in-person/hands-on training
