Key Responsibilities

Assist with Patient Evaluations:Support the Occupational Therapist (OT) by gathering patient information, observing functional performance, and contributing to assessment data.

Implement Individualized Treatment Plans:Carry out OT-developed care plans focused on improving ADLs, fine motor coordination, strength, safety, and functional independence.

Patient & Caregiver Education:Teach and reinforce home exercise programs, safe mobility techniques, adaptive equipment use, and strategies to support continued progress.

Monitor and Document Progress:Complete accurate and timely visit notes, report patient responses, communicate changes in condition to the supervising OT, and assist with plan-of-care updates.

Deliver Compassionate, High-Quality Care:Provide supportive, goal-driven, and patient-centered interventions designed to enhance everyday function and quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Texas (TX)
  • Home health or rehabilitation experience preferred
  • Strong communication and clinical skills
  • Ability to follow treatment plans and adjust interventions based on patient needs
  • Knowledge of therapy standards of care and documentation requirements
  • Professional, dependable, and patient-focused
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Kinnser/WellSky EMR experience preferred
