CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Assembles, completes, and processes patients' charts, and keeps patient records accurately identified. Transcribes doctors' orders, and checks charts for incomplete histories and operative summaries, bringing issues to the attention of the appropriate member of the healthcare team for correction. Orders unit supplies to maintain inventory of the unit's equipment stock and supplies. Assists with receiving, distributing, and sorting supplies brought to the unit. Physical and Mental Effort:

Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, pulling, pushing and standing. Prolonged standing and walking required. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient/family individualized psycho- social needs. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs services planned, delegated and supervised by the PT.
  • Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to participate in teaching the patient and family.
  • Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
  • Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
  • Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients.
  • Meets mandatory continuing education requirements; participates in in-service programs
  • Demonstrates commitment, professional growth, and competency.
