Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare field or combination education and experience required. Inpatient psychiatric experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to multi-task, prioritize with strong time management skills. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience and will be willing to supervise incoming Physical Therapists and PTA's. This position will include private client, preschool, and working within private schools. Job Summary: Must have a PT License Physical therapists will partner with new and ongoing patients in our facility to create a Plan of Treatment consisting of the appropriate exercises, procedures and techniques required to promote effective, safe recovery. They will be responsible for coordinating with any healthcare professionals that are working with their patients and referring patients to specialists when appropriate. Supervisory Responsibilities: May mentor a physical therapy new graduate as a mentor, or supervise a physical therapy assistant. Duties/Responsibilities: Develop a Plan of Care for each patient based on initial and ongoing evaluations including short and long term goals, any multidisciplinary collaboration, and required patient and caregiver involvement. Implement Plan of Care on a consistent schedule and adjust this schedule and plan according to patient progress. Document patient progress according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures, within 48 hours after seeing patient. Evaluate mobility, strength and current level of patient function, while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities and realistically attainable. Report patient progress to patient, patient caregivers and loved ones, facility staff and healthcare professionals involved in ongoing treatment/care of patients. Develop a plan for patients following completion of their Plan of care with appropriate home exercise program as deemed necessary, upon discharge Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops and continuing education; reviewing professional publications, and participating in journal club. Assist other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly and effective environment for rehabilitation and physical therapy. May perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Experience assisting and directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and physical therapy assistants. Knowledge of responsible use of facility equipment, best practices for equipment use and preventative maintenance procedures. Job Description

We are searching for a qualified Activity Therapist with expertise in Art, Music or Recreational therapy. Serving as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the Activity Therapist will provide therapeutic recreational and activity services to adult, adolescent or child patients under DBHH care for emotional or substance abuse problems.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develops and implements activity therapeutic treatment plans in concert with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Demonstrates sound application of AT Theory and methodology
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation to include therapeutic assessments, treatment plans, group therapy notes and discharge referrals.
  • Plans and prepares for activities.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., recreational therapy, music therapy). Art Therapists must have Masters degree. Excellent communication, assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills.
  • Licenses: Certification or registration strongly preferred (CTRS, ATR).
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare field or combination education and experience required. Inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize with strong time management skills.
  • Screening: Must successfully pass background check, drug screen, physical and be able to provide positive employment references.
  • Physical Demands: With or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for sustained period of time, walk, pull, lift, raise and move objects from position to position (up to 50 lbs), finger grasp; feel sizes, shapes, temperatures, and textures; express or exchange ideas orally and potentially loudly, accurately, or quickly; visually detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, assess; perceive the nature of sound with or without correction; perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, or fingers.
