May receive additional assistance from line assistant and/or toast assistant when necessary. Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment. Maintain clean service areas. Tables, seats, floor and window or wall should be cleaned thoroughly after each guest. Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests. Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable). Be ready and willing to assist co-workers as situations arise. Pre-bus your tables and assist bus person with final clearing and cleaning of tables. Busser will be provided to assist during busy periods. Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: Be able to working in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours). Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests. Engage with guests to ensure a great dining experience Embrace the JINYA culture and participate in collective proper company greeting, such as “Irasshai” and “Arigato” Communicate clearly and concisely in a positive and professional manner with guests and team members, both front and back of the house operations. Answer phone calls, take reservations and assign guests to proper tables while maintaining consistent server rotation, when needed Ensure cleanliness of service station, including any area visible to guests upon seating Support team members in front of house operations, such as refilling beverages, organizing table arrangements, table maintenance, polishing pates or glasses, resetting tables or other necessary items as requested or needed Respond to minor guest complaints, and alerting management of any major or critical guests or service concerns Know restaurant information, such as hours of operations, menu, allergies, table numbers, payment options and any relevant information to the operations of the restaurant Promote and executes JINYA’s core values of Teamwork, Hospitality, Authenticity, Creativity and Integrity Complete projects and/or tasks as requested or required by manager(s) or supervisor(s) REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Minimum 2-3 years server experience, preferably in a high-volume atmosphere Outstanding and professional verbal and written skills; with strong ability to multi-task.
