Join us and be a part of something special.Job SummaryAn IHOP server's role involves welcoming and seating guests, taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages promptly, managing multiple tables efficiently, and providing excellent customer service. They also handle payments, maintain cleanliness, and ensure compliance with IHOP's policies and safety guidelines to create a positive dining experience for guests.Responsibilities
- Greeting and seating customers.
- Presenting menus and explaining menu items.
- Taking accurate food and beverage orders from customers.
- Communicating special requests and dietary restrictions to the kitchen.
- Ensuring the prompt and accurate delivery of orders to tables.
- Refilling beverages and attending to guests' needs throughout the meal.
- Recommending additional menu items and upselling specials.
- Presenting bills, processing payments, and providing change or receipts.
- Clearing and cleaning tables efficiently. Stocking required products. Cleaning and Clearing server area.
- Resetting tables with clean utensils, napkins, and condiments.
- Addressing customer concerns and complaints professionally.
- Collaborating with kitchen staff, hosts/hostesses, and fellow servers for smooth service.
- Following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Adhering to IHOP's policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Servers should have strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive dining experience.
- A friendly and welcoming demeanor is essential for servers who interact with guests daily.
- The job may involve standing for extended periods, carrying trays of food, and walking between tables. Physical stamina is important.
- Servers should have a good understanding of the restaurant's menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special promotions.
- Ability to accurately take orders and communicate them to the kitchen is crucial to ensure customers receive the correct dishes.
- Servers often need to handle multiple tables simultaneously, so the ability to multitask effectively is important.
- Collaboration with kitchen staff, host/hostess, and fellow servers is essential for a smooth dining service.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-stress environment is important for servers.
- Servers must pay attention to customer requests, dietary restrictions, and special instructions to ensure orders are accurate.
- Servers need basic math skills to calculate bills, make change, and process payments.
- Understanding and adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines is crucial to maintain a safe dining environment.
- Punctuality and reliability are highly valued in the restaurant industry.
Compensation: $50.00 - $150.00 per day
