To use the appropriate procedure codes consistent with the dentalservices rendered.To participate in designated Quality Improvement activities of theDental Programand of Sea Mar Community Health Centers, when assigned.To help make dental care available to the patients of Sea MarCommunity HealthCenter and to the public by participating in activities which promotedental and oralhealth in the community.To be able to perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications and SkillsHave a current and valid license from the State of WashingtonDepartment of Healthand a Dental Hygienist's Contract with Sea Mar Community HealthCenter.Provide dental hygiene services to patients under the supervision ofstaff dentists andthe administration of the Dental Director and the Corporation's ChiefExecutiveOfficer and meet the productivity goals established by Sea Mar.The dental hygienist supervises the clinical activities of the dentalassistants, dental traineesand/or volunteers who are assisting him/her.Have successfully completed a dental hygiene program, in an accreditedSchool of DentalHygiene, that has been approved by the State of Washington. Havesuccessfully completedthe national boards for dental hygienists.Have the ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific andtechnical journals,financial reports and legal documents. Must be able to respond tocommon inquiries orcomplaints from customers, regulatory agencies or other members of thehealth profession.Have the ability to calculate basic mathematical figures and amountssuch as discounts,proportions and percentages.Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts anddraw valid conclusions.Have a basic understanding of the concepts of bio-statisticalanalyses.Proof of Covid Vaccine Required. Gentle Dental is seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental practice. The ideal candidate is a personable professional who is passionate about dental health and enjoys building strong relationships with patients. The role involves performing dental hygiene procedures, educating patients on best oral hygiene practices and products, and practicing proactively.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Patient Care: Conduct thorough hygiene procedures to include: scaling and root planing, gingivitis scaling, and prophylaxis.
  2. Assessment: Perform comprehensive periodontal charts, medical history assessments, and caries risk assessments.
  3. Patient Education: Educate patients on hygiene treatments needed based on medical and periodontal assessments.
  4. X-Rays: Take digital radiographs as necessary for patient diagnosis.
  5. Treatment Planning: Assist in developing personalized AAP and ADA based treatment plans per patient need, based on assessments and dentist recommendations.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  7. Patient Interaction: Engage patients in a friendly, reassuring manner, while addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment plans and completed procedures.
  9. Infection Control: Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile working environment.
