QUALIFICATIONS: ● Active CPR and AED training ● Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus! ● Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful ● Bilingual (Spanish) is required ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ● Prepare exam and operatory rooms to be clean and ready to receive patient ● Setup trays and instruments for each patient ● Prepare, maintain, and sterilize instruments and equipment ● Ensure all operatories are functioning properly ● Clean rooms before and after each patient, and at the end of the day ● Clean the suctions and traps ● Collect and dispose of trash ● Take diagnostic quality X-rays if needed ● Maintain the office flow for a smooth day ● Assignments of roles and responsibilities to the back staff ● Monthly inventory order is placed and checked in Procurify ● Ensure all tests are run and complete for the dental equipment ● Ensure we have Oxygen/Nitrous/Helium tanks in stock ● Training of new employees ● Ensure all equipment including tanks are off at the end of the day ● Communicate with doctors and ensuring they have instruments/material they need ● Help with minor dental work: retraction cord, scaling, temporaries and coronal polishing ● Placement of post-extraction and periodontal dressings ● Take impressions, bite registrations and prepare the study casts (models of teeth) ● Help provide direct patient care in all dental specialities, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery ● Assist the doctor during exams PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ● Prolonged sitting and standing as needed ● Ability to lift up to 15 lbs NOTE: A review of this description has excluded the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. Participating and helping run morning or afternoon huddles for your Provider and their Patient Coordinators/Scheduler. When necessary, prepping the daily huddle sheet with your team's Scheduler. Mentoring new team members when comfortable and can create value. Following our protocol of "proper handoff" of patients to the front desk for check out. Take ownership of appointment flow - keeping appointments on-time and helping to manage the Provider's schedule. Comfortable to ask a happy patient to share their feedback online in a review or refer a friend to the Practice if they know anyone looking for a new dental home. Proudly sharing our service with others. Work collaboratively with the entire Practice to meet or exceed monthly goals so all can receive their check exercise bonus! Generate and review reports, when directed. Monitor treatment plans and case acceptance, when directed to further support your Doctor and meet hourly production goals. Make sure treatment plans are in proper order within Ascend. Always follow our "front stage" behavior. Take any necessary X-rays or wellness scans as directed by our Providers. Assist the periodontist during procedures such as implant placement, scaling and root planning, bone grafts, and gum surgeries. Ensure all instruments are properly sterilized and treatment rooms are clean and fully stocked before and after each procedure. Welcome patients, review medical histories, and prepare them for treatment Take and process dental radiographs ( periapical, bitewing, panoramic, Cone beam CT) Chart periodontal measurements, treatment details, and update patient records in the system. Set up trays and materials needed for the procedure type and the doctor’s preferences. Provide patients with verbal and written post-operative instructions and assist with follow-up care, including suture removal if needed. Treatment planning (entering into the computer). Coordinate with front office for patient scheduling, referrals, and treatment planning support. Clean and maintain dental equipment; report any issues for repair promptly. Set up operatory, set up trays and materials needed for sedation cases. We're looking for someone who has: 3 or more years’ experience in a Dental Assistant position. Flexibility regarding scheduling. Our office is open 6 days a week, including early morning, late evenings, and some holidays. Most Dental Assistants work every other Saturday. Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast-paced Practice. Excellent attention to detail and high follow through. A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude. Collaborative and comfortable in communications. Outstanding teamwork skills and the ability work with a diverse group of people. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish welcomed.
