JOB OVERVIEW: The Treatment Coordinator’s main job responsibility is to clearly explain treatment options and related costs. The Treatment Coordinator is a liaison between the doctor and the patient and assists in the gathering of information in the new patient experience, as well as coordinating a treatment plan with the doctor and presenting it to the patient. They are knowledgeable about the treatment and timelines, and they are prepared to negotiate financial arrangements with the clients. The Treatment Coordinator provides a calm and warm environment for patients who are otherwise anxious and concerned about how to afford dentistry. They also coordinate, as needed, with other offices who share in the care of patients, making sure referrals and correspondence are received and followed up on. The Treatment Coordinator may also be responsible for some internal accounting duties that support the practice’s goals for profitability. REPORTS TO: Lead Specialty Doctor/Office Leader SCHEDULE: This position requires a flexible schedule that may require extended hours business requires – including evenings and weekends. JOB OVERVIEW:

The Treatment Coordinator’s main job responsibility is to clearly explain treatment options and related costs. The Treatment Coordinator is a liaison between the doctor and the patient and assists in the gathering of information in the new patient experience, as well as coordinating a
treatment plan with the doctor and presenting it to the patient. They are knowledgeable about the treatment and timelines, and they are prepared to negotiate financial arrangements with the clients. The Treatment Coordinator provides a calm and warm environment for patients who are otherwise anxious and concerned about how to afford dentistry. They also coordinate, as needed, with other offices who share in the care of patients, making sure referrals and correspondence are received and followed up on. The Treatment Coordinator may also be responsible for some internal accounting duties that support the practice’s goals for profitability.

REPORTS TO: Lead Specialty Doctor/Office Leader

SCHEDULE: This position requires a flexible schedule that may require extended hours business requires – including evenings and weekends.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

● At least 1 year experience working with all insurance providers
● Excellent time management skills
● Problem solving
● Advanced dental knowledge
● Ability to connect with strangers and prospect patients
● At least 1 year of Treatment Coordinator experience in at least 1 Specialty.
● Bilingual (preferred)

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
● Educate and explain treatment to patient/parent/guardian
● Contracts: setting clear expectations with patient
● Call broken appointments
● Preparing schedule a week in advance
● Collect and post payments from patients under the correct provider
● Assist Specialty dentist with new patient consults
● Ability to create payment plans and relate treatment necessity to Patients
● Identify consults in general schedule
● Submit pre-auths for Medicaid
● Maintain a steady patient flow by communicating with Specialty lead and Specialtydontist
● Properly enter TC notes: clinical notes for Dr. during consults, notes from ins, tx plan notes
● Collaborate with Specialty Lead to ensure all patient notes are obtained by the end of every Specialty day
● Communicate changes with patient
● Monitor flow at all times

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

● Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
● Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
