Reporting to the Senior Manager of Dental/Vision Strategy & Project Delivery, the Dental/Vision Project Manager will provide business direction and end-to-end project management for cross-functional programs and projects for the Dental & Vision businesses. Partnering closely with Dental & Vision team members and matrix partners, they will: Lead the facilitation of discussions supporting projects, create framework to support cross-functional project preparation/execution, manage and create program/project artifacts and be responsible for the overall organizational messaging and communication of project performance. This role will be instrumental in delivering business change across multiple projects in alignment with Dental/Vision strategy goals and objectives. Arrive on time, check in with dental contact, and review list of patients to be seen. Transport, set-up and take down equipment and supplies in room designated as workspace by facility. Work with contacts at nursing home to coordinate transfer or patients and their chart to and from the treatment room. If issues with transport of patients/charts and all options have been exhausted, call clinical support manager for assistance. Perform required care including taking X-rays, cleaning teeth and dentures, applying sealants, assess patient's oral heath to report finding to dentist, following all ADA and Company standards of care. Explain procedures as they are completed to patient. Follow up with staff at facility to review recommendations for patient. Enter chart notes for treatment provided into Salesforce at the time of treatment. Ensure that OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations are followed during patient treatment. The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring all accounts are processed through insurance properly, and patient accounts are paid in a timely manner. Billing Specialists should be familiar with ethical billing practices and are responsible for maintaining hundreds of patient accounts to ensure payment. Answer phone calls and emails with questions pertaining to dental billing issues. Provide excellent billing customer services over the phone or in Person. Process credit card payment for out of pocket and other balance that is patient responsibility. Work with patients with past due accounts to set up payment plans and collaborate with other Billing Support specialist. Manage dental billing inquiries. Investigate dental denied claims for successful processing & receipt of payment from insurance. Respond to payer inquiries in a timely manner. Submit claims in a timely manner. Manage self-pay visits, make sure insurances are correct before attaching them to patient account. Work to reduce aging and average days receivable from dental claims. Maintain up -to-date knowledge of ever-changing on dental billing regulations. Work with the rest of the billing staff to create more efficient workflows. Attend trainings and meetings as schedule. Ability to work with insurance companies to get claims paid. Knowledge and experience in Epic / Wisdom system. Understand FQHC Dental billing process and Sliding Fee Discount programs. Assist with other duties and responsibilities as requested. Summary The Patient Account Representative is one of a team of Patient Account Representatives who are responsible for performing a variety of front office procedures. The position reports to the Manager of Patient Accounts for the Midwestern University Dental Medicine Clinic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet and direct patients and visitors Perform registration/check-in process, including but not limited to performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate information and intake forms, and obtaining necessary signatures Calculate and collect patient co-pays, billing amounts, refunds to patient and third parties, payment plans, insurance coding and outstanding balances/collections according to patient's insurance benefits Answer phones including scheduling appointments, registering patients, taking messages, routing calls to departments, and answering general inquires Reschedule and cancel appointments and communicate as needed with patients/families and providers Notify patients of co-payments, deductibles, co-insurance and collect outstanding balances during scheduling process when appropriate Provide positive patient interactions when speaking with patients, care providers, and others while on phones and in clinic Provide instructions prior to appointment as directed by provider Provide directions/maps, and parking instructions Secure and enter patient demographics, guardian and emergency contacts, guarantor, and insurance coverage information into the practice management system Update demographics when patient information changes Add appropriate patient notes into practice management system Verify insurance eligibility and benefits when necessary Work in conjunction with the Manager of Patient Accounts to help reach and maintain financial and accounts receivable goals for the clinic Other duties may be assigned Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
