Digital Scanning and Impressions: Operate intraoral scanners (e.g., iTero, 3Shape, Dandy) to take precise digital impressions for crowns, bridges, Invisalign, and other restorative or orthodontic treatments, ensuring accurate transmission of data to dental labs. Radiography: Take high-quality dental X-rays, including bitewings, panoramic, and periapical images, and ensure proper radiation safety protocols are followed. Patient Care: Prepare patients for treatments, review medical history, take vital signs, and ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures. Infection Control: Follow strict sterilization and infection control protocols, ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, and stored. Laboratory Coordination: Work closely with dental labs by sending digital scans and ensuring the timely delivery of restorations and other dental appliances. Restorative Procedures Support: Assist the dentist in placing fillings, crowns, temporary restorations, and other restorative materials, ensuring smooth workflow during procedures. Orthodontic Assistance: Support in the placement and adjustment of orthodontic appliances, retainers, and other aligners. Prophylaxis and Periodontal Assistance: Assist in dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing procedures, and educating patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care. Inventory Management: Maintain and restock dental supplies, instruments, and materials, ensuring the clinic is always well-equipped. Record-Keeping and Documentation: Maintain detailed patient records, including charting treatment notes, updating medical histories, and entering data into the practice management software (Dentrix Ascend). Administrative Support: Answer phones, schedule appointments, manage patient inquiries, and coordinate patient follow-ups with the front desk team. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a certified Dental Assistant program. Radiology certification for taking dental X-rays. Proficiency in digital scanning technology (e.g., iTero, 3Shape, Dandy) for dental impressions. Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and terminology. Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols.
