The Dental Supervisor must complete the assignments that pertain to the Quality Improvement activities of the dental department and of Sea Mar Community Health Centers following the current QI Department Calendar (example, chart audits and patient surveys, and health and safety activities). Must be able to keep provider production at goal expectations, and keep production daily reports. The Dental Supervisor must be able to make community relationships to help build the dental clinic (headstart programs, ECAP programs). Must be able to communicate with Regional Coordinator, Dental Director, on any issues clearly and effectively. Education and/or Qualifications: Current DA registration from Washington State required. Must have completed basic courses in dental assisting and office management at an academic institution, such as a Technical Institute or its equivalent. Minimum of three years working experience in a dental office may be considered in lieu of education. Must be current in Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or comply within one month of employment. Must be able to communicate, read, write in English and have the ability to read and interpret common written materials about dentistry. Experience with EPIC desirable. Key Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support Dental Care Coordinators in daily operations

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations

  • Ensure team compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and regulations

  • Monitor staffing levels to maintain clinic efficiency and adjust as needed

  • Address escalated patient concerns or operational issues professionally

  • Promote a collaborative and positive work culture

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate dental care services with patients, providers, and team members

  • Oversee front office operations, including scheduling, check-in/out, and patient communication

  • Monitor Point-of-Service (POS) collections, sliding fee applications, and chart review outcomes

  • Collaborate with the billing team to ensure clean claims and resolve front-end billing issues

  • Manage scheduling processes across providers and sites for optimal clinic flow

  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and ensure message follow-up

  • Ensure all patient documentation is accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant

  • Identify and implement process improvements for workflow and patient care

  • Manage team timekeeping and payroll duties as needed

  • Participate in crisis messaging and on-call duties in coordination with BHR

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • CPR certification required

  • Previous experience in a dental office setting preferred

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in healthcare or dental preferred
