We are seeking exceptional applicants for a part-time onsite Medical Assistant to be part of our team. What you can expect from AFC · Competitive compensation, Incentive bonus program · Health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision) · 401k plan · Disability Insurance · PTO (Paid Vacation) · Selected Paid Federal Holiday · We will provide training and support for you to be successful in your position · Joining a team at a time of growth and transformation · Making a positive impact to our community · A supportive and professional work environment · We aim for a pleasant, synergetic, and transparent office culture where our providers and management believe that if our staff are happy, our patients will have a great experience as well Responsibilities · Provide outstanding, empathetic, patient-centric care · Take vitals and room patients in a timely fashion · Perform rapid screening tests (strep, influenza, mono, glucose, covid, etc.) · Ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the treating Physicians · Administer vaccines/injections · Perform phlebotomy duties · Audiogram and respirator fit testing · Set up and assist with wound care · All other required testing · Dispenses medications and appliances as ordered by the treating Physician · Monitor inventory · Attend staff meetings as required · Maintain and operate all medical devices, equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures · Clean exam rooms and equipment · Restocking exam rooms · Manage patient flow and volume · Answer phone calls · Cross trained to perform Front Office duties · Be flexible in taking on other duties as assigned by Center Administrator or Physicians Minimum Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent · Preeminent customer service (people-facing and empathy) skills · Well-developed time management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize assignments and work · Office computer skills · Insurance billing knowledge a plus · Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school · Previous Medical Assistant experience, 1 year preferred Ideal Qualifications · Exceptional listening, interpersonal, and empathy skills · Unparalleled approach to customer care that results in consistently high levels of patient satisfaction, word-of-mouth referrals, and return visits over time · Ability to participate in a positive work environment for all staff · Community, family, or professional ties to the East Bay (or at least a desire to become a valued member of the community) Center hours will be Mon-Fri 8 am-8 pm, and Sat-Sun 8 am-5 pm.
