Job Overview: We are currently seeking Senior Gas Project Engineer(s) for our gas group in several locations throughout the North East. The ideal candidate has at least a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or other engineering field with the required experience). The successful candidate will act in a consultant role for our existing utility clients. Types of projects include (but are not limited to) main and service replacements, system improvements, pressure upgrades, new business main extensions, highway improvements, regulator station and facility design, Gate Station design, odorization, pre-heat, critical crossing and horizontal directional drilling design, odorization and pipe conditioning, Integrity Projects and Integrity Management, Field Inspection, and more. If you have Integrity, Pipeline, and/or Facilities experience, there is a good chance this opportunity is for you! Duties – The following lists typical project responsibilities. This may vary based on the nature of a project and/or client needs: Conduct preliminary field work which would include carrying approximately 10 lbs. throughout the work day. Expected amount of field work would be approximately 5-10% of annual work load, but may vary based on client needs and project assignments. Coordinate with all project stakeholders and act in the interest of our clients to support their project goals. Production of quality basemap and construction drawings for client, municipal, and regulatory agency review using AutoCAD. Including details, BOM, Material Specifications, O&M manual development, management of inter-disciplinary projects, and more. Development of energization and de-energization procedures. Contractor and construction cost estimation. Alternative Analyses and detailed comparisons including Risk Assessment Code and Compliance Reviews, Gap Analyses, O&M and Construction standard audits and modification. DIMP and/or TIMP plan development and/or audits and/or improvements. Completion of complex engineering calculations (stress, pipe flow, heat transfer, external loading, etc.). Familiarity with CFR 192, CFR 193, and/or other applicable regulations to ensure work products are compliant. Data entry into SAP and/or Maximo Work Management System to support your project work in our clients’ WMS’s. Apply for and obtain municipal highway permits and other right-of-way permits (e.g. NYSDOT, railroad, Thruway Authority, Canal Corporation, etc.) Coordinate with landowners to obtain right-of-way / easement when required. Create as-built records from inspector’s field notes. Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff. Act as a role model. Set and monitor goals, objectives, and progress. Assist with marketing, business development, and internal SOP development. Requirements This is a Senior Level position, and you must have proven / demonstrated the ability to perform the duties of this role through previous employment. Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or other closely related field. Professional Engineering license and/or GTI Competent Engineer Certification (preferred) Minimum of 10 years of related experience for Natural Gas Operator or consultant in Natural Gas industry (Transmission and Distribution preferred) Strong verbal and written communication skills. Presents and conducts themselves in a professional manner. Able to pace themselves and work within defined project budgets. Ability to balance multiple projects and assignments and prioritize their individual workload. Need to possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving history (required). Excellent organizational skills. Ability to carry 10 lbs. throughout the workday sometimes through difficult terrain such as forests, agriculture fields, etc. Ability to pass a client background check. Review, update, and enhance mechanical Sequences of Operation (SOO). Coordinate with Test and Balance (TAB) contractors to establish complete testing protocols. Technical Execution (Commissioning Phases 2–6) Phase 2 – Factory Witness Testing (ASHRAE Level 1) Lead factory acceptance tests (FAT) for mechanical, gas, and chemical equipment. Document test results and verify compliance with project specifications. Phase 3 – Construction & Installation Verification (ASHRAE Level 2) Conduct visual inspections of gas and chemical installations, structural supports, and field routing. Verify compliance with mechanical codes and oversee pressure/hydrostatic and duct leakage testing. Confirm equipment access, service clearances, and installation of sensors and control systems. Phases 4–5 – Operational & Functional Testing (ASHRAE Levels 3–4) Coordinate and oversee airflow and hydronic TAB activities. Test and verify chemical system controls, including chemical boxes, manifolds, and distribution systems. Perform Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT) in alignment with approved SOOs. Validate installation of gas systems including piping, tanks, controls, supports/hangers, labeling, and reporting documentation. Skills Required: 3+ years of experience commissioning gas and chemical equipment in semiconductor or other mission-critical facilities. Our technicians spend their workdays on the go, independently working in the field using their company-provided vehicle. Your Responsibilities as a Locator: Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure. Job Overview:

We are currently seeking Senior Gas Project Engineer(s) for our gas group in several locations throughout the North East. If you have interest in any of these locations, we would encourage you to apply. The ideal candidate has at least a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or other engineering field with the required experience). The successful candidate will act in a consultant role for our existing utility clients. Types of projects include (but are not limited to) main and service replacements, system improvements, pressure upgrades, new business main extensions, highway improvements, regulator station and facility design, Gate Station design, odorization, pre-heat, critical crossing and horizontal directional drilling design, odorization and pipe conditioning, Integrity Projects and Integrity Management, Field Inspection, and more. Duties – The following lists typical project responsibilities. This may vary based on the nature of a project and/or client needs:

  • Conduct preliminary field work which would include carrying approximately 10 lbs. throughout the work day. Expected amount of field work would be approximately 5-10% of annual work load, but may vary based on client needs and project assignments.
  • Coordinate with all project stakeholders and act in the interest of our clients to support their project goals.
  • Production of quality basemap and construction drawings for client, municipal, and regulatory agency review using AutoCAD.
  • Including details, BOM, Material Specifications, O&M manual development, management of inter-disciplinary projects, and more.
  • Development of energization and de-energization procedures.
  • Contractor and construction cost estimation.
  • Alternative Analyses and detailed comparisons including Risk Assessment
  • Code and Compliance Reviews, Gap Analyses, O&M and Construction standard audits and modification.
  • DIMP and/or TIMP plan development and/or audits and/or improvements.
  • Completion of complex engineering calculations (stress, pipe flow, heat transfer, external loading, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CFR 192, CFR 193, and/or other applicable regulations to ensure work products are compliant.
  • Data entry into SAP and/or Maximo Work Management System to support your project work in our clients’ WMS’s.
  • Apply for and obtain municipal highway permits and other right-of-way permits (e.g. NYSDOT, railroad, Thruway Authority, Canal Corporation, etc.)
  • Coordinate with landowners to obtain right-of-way / easement when required.
  • Create as-built records from inspector’s field notes.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff. Act as a role model. Set and monitor goals, objectives, and progress.
  • Assist with marketing, business development, and internal SOP development.

Requirements

  • This is a Senior Level position, and you must have proven / demonstrated the ability to perform the duties of this role through previous employment.
  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or other closely related field.
  • Professional Engineering license and/or GTI Competent Engineer Certification (preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience for Natural Gas Operator or consultant in Natural Gas industry (Transmission and Distribution preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Presents and conducts themselves in a professional manner.
  • Able to pace themselves and work within defined project budgets.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and assignments and prioritize their individual workload.
  • Need to possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving history (required).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to carry 10 lbs. throughout the workday sometimes through difficult terrain such as forests, agriculture fields, etc.
  • Ability to pass a client background check.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $160,000 per year

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
