The Opportunity: The Branch Manager is responsible for the sales growth, retention of customers, customer satisfaction, profitability, operational controls, health and safety performance and regulatory compliance. The function of this position is to successfully achieve the financial goals and objectives of the entire Branch Location. Responsibilities: Hire, train, and manage a team of direct reports including but not limited to office support, warehouse staff and drivers. Assign and monitor clerical and administrative responsibilities and tasks among office staff. Allocate available resources to enable successful task performance. Co-ordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency. Assign and supervise warehouse activity on order selection and load verification meeting customer order requirements, ensuring the Right Product, at the Right Time, and at the Right Place. Evaluate and manage staff performance, which includes Coaching, Training, and Corrective Action as needed.Manage internal staff relations in compliance with Parkland policies and procedures and State and Federal laws. Responsible for control of operational expenses against budgeted goals. In partnership with the ROC Leadership for budget planning regarding their area of responsibility. Responsible for daily pricing of fuels in alignment with the pricing guides set by Pricing Manager. Monitor allocations with Suppliers, ensuring commitments are met and penalties avoided. Partner with Sales Reps to strengthen customer relationships and operational efficiency, Provide superior customer service including resolving those customer’s complaints and inquiries which fall within operational control in a timely manner, communicate outcomes and resolutions with Sales. Oversee and Manage all Safety Training, Safety Meetings, WPOs, and Hazard ID. Ensure all safety and security issues are entered into Cority daily, in accordance with Parkland policy and procedures. All incidents must be reported immediately to your supervisor. Ensure that confidentiality of business data and product pricing practices are maintained. Manager is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, informing and coordinating with others as expected. Manager is accountable for ensuring the technical accuracy of their work and maintaining good working relations, both internal and external to Parkland USA. Self-direction and motivation are a standard requirement. Must meet performance expectations. Must complete all duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business related field OR High School Diploma or GED equivalent. paired with a minimum of 3 or more years of experience in business management or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience. Previous Propane Experience would be an asset Proven skills in business and financial management. Excellent verbal and written business communication skills. Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress, and crisis situations. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of back-office software preferred, i.e., SAP, Oracle etc. Minimum of three years of experience in business management, planning and financial oversight. A minimum of three years experience in personnel management, including hiring, supervision, corrective actions and performance management evaluations. Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize opportunities to improve the business results and/or profitability. Record of success driving an efficient and profitable department.
