Position Description:
We are looking for a Designer to join our ICE team to improve infrastructure in our Michigan offices. Candidates must have a high school diploma, and one or more years of drafting experience in the natural gas industry. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. Familiarity with AutoCAD 3D is required and experience with MicroStation, and ESRI is a plus. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule available after 90 days of employment.
Typical responsibilities include:

- Prepare computer drafted natural gas pipeline designs, as-builts, and mechanical detail drawings
- Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD
- Generate bill of materials
- Ability to work independently
- Print working drawings using a plotter
- Create estimated time requirements for projects
- Attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules
- Save project-specific data on a daily and weekly basis
- Complete pipeline 'as-built' drawings from field notes, historic documents, survey data, etc.
- Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses to obtain 3rd party infrastructure
- Verify and organize field visit survey notes
- Assist Project Managers as needed
- Attend meetings as needed
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
- High school diploma required
Skills/Experience:
- Familiarity with AutoCAD 3D is required
- A technical degree and knowledge of MicroStation and/or ESRI is a plus.
- 1 or more years of drafting experience in the natural gas industry, specific to distribution, transmission, and metering/regulation
