Reporting to the Manager, Cash Trading & Gas Scheduling, this position will work with an innovative team to continue building a business and execute / manage activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas on various natural gas pipelines. The Gas Pipeline Controller will be responsible for the safe and efficient remote operation of pipelines, tanks, and pumping equipment involved in the transportation of crude oil and other products in compliance with DOT and other regulatory agencies. Additional Liquid Pipeline Controller's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Remotely starting/stopping pumps and/or compressors and operating valves. Monitoring and controlling the movement of material through multiple pipelines and/or facilities. Analyzing changing conditions and alarms and making necessary adjustments. Determining accurate time of pipeline events (pumping, deliveries, nominations, etc.) by reviewing batch listings and schedules. The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: Minimum of 60 college credit hours with oil and gas field operations/plant experience or minimum of 60 college credit hours with relevant oil and gas or air traffic controller experience in the military or on the job work experience operating as a pipeline controller or board operator in the oil and gas or chemical industry is required. Associates degree is strongly preferred. 2-3 years of Chemical or Oil and Gas industry experience is strongly preferred. Must have experience and basic computer skills including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software. Must successfully complete all pre-employment screening requirements; including, but not limited to criminal and employment background checks, DOT drug screen, basic math and/or mechanical aptitude assessments, and interview process. The Opportunity

Our Energy Marketing group is growing its capability set to capture and harness both risk and opportunity and is currently looking to add a Natural Gas Scheduler based in Houston, TX.

Reporting to the Manager, Cash Trading & Gas Scheduling, this position will work with an innovative team to continue building a business and execute / manage activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas on various natural gas pipelines.

What You'll Do

  • Execute and manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other similar activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas on various natural gas pipelines

  • Set up contracts on new pipelines and coordinate with internal groups

  • Apply a thorough understanding of transportation contracts and nominate the movement of natural gas appropriately

  • Track the movement of all physical gas transactions and maintain an internal overview showing the contractual movements of gas, storage changes, and imbalances

  • Track and interpret maintenance and other operational issues to aide in the efficiency of transporting natural gas & monetization of insights

  • Communicate with pipeline representatives as needed and advise the trading team on potential impacts and alternative solutions

  • Work to enhance the NPV & profitability of the book

  • Assist the trading team regarding the optimal use of transportation and storage assets

  • Communicate with customers and the trading team regarding physical positions and the movement of natural gas

  • Ensure positions in accounting and internal system balance and reconcile to actual activity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in a technical or business discipline

  • 5 years of related experience

  • 2 years of natural gas scheduling experience across L48 South Pipes

  • Proven computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ETRM Systems (including ENDUR)

  • Proven experience providing advice to commercial, accounting and operations teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scheduling experience on pipelines adjoining those of TC Energy

  • Proven ability to simultaneously co-ordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
