Job Description

The Durable Slate Company is looking for an experienced, competent Sheet Metal Mechanic.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the roofing industry, specifically with copper roofing using historically correct fabrication and installation techniques. Additional experience with built in gutters and hanging gutter, slate or tile roofing is a bonus.  

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-years’ experience in commercial and/or residential roofing, preferably in the field of slate and sheet metal roofing
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be able to carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • The Durable Slate Company is a Drug Free workplace, and candidates must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, as well as occasional random screening as needed
  • Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance for base access or other Federal projects.
  • Having a valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record of 4 points or less is preferred but not required.
