Punch Press (Pega) Operator - $20.00/HOUR A company in Santa Teresa, NM needs a Punch Press Operator. The Punch Press Operator sets up and runs machines that punch, shape, or cut metal and plastic materials based on blueprints. They manage machine settings, load raw materials, perform quality checks with precision tools, and perform maintenance to ensure accurate, timely production while following safety protocols. Main responsibilities: Machine is CNC punch line or turret machine. Programs for parts and/or nests are loaded into the machine electronically. Setup: Preparing the machine by loading tools and dies specific to the job requirements. Operation: Monitoring and operating the machine to punch holes or shapes in copper & aluminum bar, ensuring quality standards are met. Quality Control: Inspecting finished parts for accuracy and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed. Basic blueprint reading, first-off inspections and in-process inspections. Main tools needed are tape measure and calipers. Maintenance: Performing routine basic maintenance check on the machine to keep it in good working order, including cleaning and lubricating parts, reporting issues immediately to the supervisor. Technical Skills: Understanding of machining processes, blueprints, and technical drawings. Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors and ensure high-quality production standards.
