Registered Nurse (Hospital Setting)

Position Overview

A rural acute-care healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, emotionally demanding environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Strong clinical, assessment, and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow efficiently
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Commitment to patient-centered and restorative care
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic math proficiency for medication administration and documentation
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and team members
• Strict adherence to patient confidentiality and privacy regulations (HIPAA compliance required)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Accurately and promptly document patient care and charting
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments each shift for acute and swing-bed patients, and ongoing assessments for emergency patients
• Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary communication
• Transcribe and implement provider orders accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely within required timeframes
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols
• Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing assistants and support staff
• Assist with onboarding and training of new staff
• Support staffing needs and collaborate with team members
• Attend required staff meetings and maintain compliance with organizational policies

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift and assist with moving patients (up to 75 lbs with assistance as needed)
• Continuous use of fine motor skills for clinical tasks
• Frequent pushing (e.g., wheelchairs, equipment)
