Job Description
Summary:
Responsible for the assembly and inspection of various parts, subassemblies, fluids, and accessories to build a lift truck. Build subassemblies including drive axles, power trains, side shifters, header hoses, overhead guard modules, lights, hydraulic tanks, brakes, steering columns, cowls, tires, and seats.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble lift trucks and components within a specified cycle time.
- Test, inspect, make adjustments, and reject parts/materials.
- Ensure proper care and usage of assembly tools, equipment, and facility.
- Maintain general housekeeping and ensure safe behavior and operation of equipment.
- Accept responsibility for the quality of work performed.
- Document using the BAM system and maintain adherence to quality standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Work safely, perform quality work, be flexible in work assignments, and available to work overtime as required.
- Participate in developmental programs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of assembly process and tools.
- Ability to read and make decisions from SOEs, OMS, shop orders, operation sheets, prints, diagrams, and written and verbal instructions.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Safety knowledge in a manufacturing environment and proper use of PPE.
Required Skills:
- Time management to maintain an acceptable level of attendance.
- Willingness to participate in training necessary for the development of basic and technical skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with DFT techniques.
- National Career Readiness Certification is preferred.
