Changing of broken blades when they occur. Work with QC to properly check slicer/dicer after work is performed. Make sure that the broken blades are properly broken up and stored in the blade drum. Checking of blade tension after blade changes. Preventative Maintenance on slicer/dicers weekly. Take blade counts and request from the parts person for new blades when quantities are low. Take care of all breakdown calls for the slicer/dicers and robots. Make sure all oilers stay full and blade guides are properly cleaned every 2 hours. Ensure production equipment stays running in good working order. Ensure proper PMs are done when the line is scheduled down. Other duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor. Other Responsibilities may include: Under the guidance of a senior mechanic provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production. Assists with scheduled maintenance repairs of production, processing, and facilities equipment. Performs Cleaning, Lubrication, and Inspection of facilities equipment. Document work in Computer-based Maintenance Management Systems (SAP). Mechanic is required to supply their own basic hand tools and a lockable toolbox. Perform other duties as required. Safety & GMP Objectives Maintain a safe and clean work environment, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
