Responsible for directing support departments with assistance from department team leaders to ensure product quality, food safety, production yields, productivity and the maintenance of a safe workplace. Responsible for full supervisory functions including but not limited to scheduled performance management, company policies and procedures, etc. Investigate and issues corrective actions for any process or quality deviation as outlined by Company policy. Issue work orders to correct any identified deficiencies as needed. Collaborate with Human Resources on hires, policy development and enforcement, disciplinary actions, etc. Actively participate in weekly production meetings and plant inspections. Enforce compliance to company rules, policies and procedures to ensure a safe and fair working environment for plant workers and visitors. Ensure compliance of all Local, State & Federal regulations. Actively support all continuous improvement efforts and provide feedback on success of new techniques, procedures or policies. Maintains time clock management system ensuring appropriate allowed weekly hours, timely approvals, accurate and updated schedules and time approvals. Conduct staff meetings with colleagues covering safety issues and production performance against set goals as required Ensure all daily manufacturing documents/reports are completed and accurate Assists in the coordination and support of all continuous improvement/lean initiatives within the facility Execute other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager or senior management. What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree Minimum of five (5) years' experience supervising in a manufacturing setting, including hiring, coaching, development and performance management. Prior experience working supervising temporary or staffing company resources, including managing overtime pools or mechanisms to ensure full staffing capacity. Evidence of computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, databases, QAD or similar software, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen and communicate to a broad audience. Strong leadership, professionalism, management and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large staff with the potential of frequent turnover, Strong analytical, organizational skills with an ability to organize and follow through on jobs and assigned projects Ability to multi-task and set priorities within department. Knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, FDA and OSHA requirements. Ability to complete all required AIB food safety and quality modules on an annual basis or within 15 months from start date Where You'll Work: Position may require continuous standing, lifting, bending and moving of heavy weight (over 50 pounds) material in difficult work positions. This position is in a manufacturing environment with exposure to ovens and freezers. The position requires working alternate shifts as necessary. Reviews inspection efforts through on-site visits, and review of completed reports. Assures Contractor compliance with proper work scheduling, interpretation of plans and specifications, work methods, and acceptability of workmanship. Inspects the materials, installation, and testing of completed work and works closely with Contractor representatives to identify and ensure correction of deficiencies and to suggest and advise on the acceptability of alternative construction methods. Review the construction contractor's daily quality control reports to ensure that the control operations are adequately documented (including such activities as the level of inspection, documentation, deficiency correction, etc.). Performs and documents surveillance to ensure the construction contractor follows the USACE 3-phase quality control system. Provide daily quality assurance inspection (follow-up inspections) and surveillance of the construction contractor's Quality Control Program. Review ongoing work activities to verify that materials and workmanship meet contract requirements. Attends quality assurance preparatory and initial inspections. Within 24 hours of an inspection, provide input on the daily Quality Assurance Report (QAR) via USACE Resident Management System (RMS), emphasizing deficiencies found. Monitors construction contractor's procedures for tracking deficiencies to ensure acceptable corrective action and maintain an audit trail. Report findings on daily logs of construction Quality Assurance Reports. Maintains a system for tracking deficiencies, field problems, and requests for information (RFIs). Occasionally, we attend shop inspections for offsite fabricated items supporting the project about construction assemblies to verify contract compliance before shipment to site. These site visits are expected to be day trips requiring no alternate overnight travel arrangements. All other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of construction representative experience. 4-year degree in a related field or commensurate experience. Construction management certification preferred. Experience interpreting plans and specifications and reviewing as-built drawings is preferred. Experience with field inspections to determine the acceptability of workmanship and compliance with plans and specifications is preferred. Experience reviewing contractor daily quality control reports for accuracy and deficiencies and performing quality assurance inspections is preferred. Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 (USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual) and 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations is preferred. Your Mission:

Plan, direct and coordinate the shift workforce to maximize productivity and efficiency. Responsible for directing support departments with assistance from department team leaders to ensure product quality, food safety, production yields, productivity and the maintenance of a safe workplace. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, company policies and procedures. Manage staff of up to 25 direct reports and up to 75 indirect reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the efficient, cost-effective management for the assigned production department shift, including but not limited to. Additionally, this role will manage daily operations of all production lines; ensure production goals are met on assigned shifts and make adjustments to schedules as needed; provide work direction to supporting departments (maintenance, Quality, etc.), partnering with department leadership; maintain staffing to meet shift specifics for production and support departments; and support Shift Managers on other shifts during changeover.

  • Mentors and motivate production colleagues providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth. Responsible for full supervisory functions including but not limited to scheduled performance management, company policies and procedures, etc.

  • Investigate and issues corrective actions for any process or quality deviation as outlined by Company policy. Issue work orders to correct any identified deficiencies as needed. Collaborate with Human Resources on hires, policy development and enforcement, disciplinary actions, etc.

  • Actively participate in weekly production meetings and plant inspections.

  • Enforce compliance to company rules, policies and procedures to ensure a safe and fair working environment for plant workers and visitors. Ensure compliance of all Local, State & Federal regulations.

  • Actively support all continuous improvement efforts and provide feedback on success of new techniques, procedures or policies.

  • Maintains time clock management system ensuring appropriate allowed weekly hours, timely approvals, accurate and updated schedules and time approvals.

  • Conduct staff meetings with colleagues covering safety issues and production performance against set goals as required

  • Ensure all daily manufacturing documents/reports are completed and accurate

  • Assists in the coordination and support of all continuous improvement/lean initiatives within the facility

  • Execute other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager or senior management.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience supervising in a manufacturing setting, including hiring, coaching, development and performance management.

  • Prior experience working supervising temporary or staffing company resources, including managing overtime pools or mechanisms to ensure full staffing capacity.

  • Evidence of computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, databases, QAD or similar software, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen and communicate to a broad audience.

  • Strong leadership, professionalism, management and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large staff with the potential of frequent turnover,

  • Strong analytical, organizational skills with an ability to organize and follow through on jobs and assigned projects

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities within department.

  • Knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, FDA and OSHA requirements. Ability to complete all required AIB food safety and quality modules on an annual basis or within 15 months from start date

  • Position may require continuous standing, lifting, bending and moving of heavy weight (over 50 pounds) material in difficult work positions.

  • This position is in a manufacturing environment with exposure to ovens and freezers.

  • The position requires working alternate shifts as necessary.
