General Purpose:

The Dietary Aide supports the dietary department by assisting with food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and cleanliness of the kitchen area. This position reports directly to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor and plays a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and well-prepared meals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and deliver meal trays to residents

  • Strip and clean returned trays and operate the dishwashing machine

  • Record chlorine concentration and water temperature at the beginning of the shift

  • Observe dishwashing cycles for proper sanitation levels

  • Prepare and serve snacks and nourishments as needed

  • Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors and surfaces

  • Carry out trash and store groceries in a clean and orderly manner

  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations and refrigerators

  • Follow directions from Cook and Dietary Supervisor

  • Assist in training and orientation of new dietary staff

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
