Maintains cleanliness in dorms, bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and dining halls by sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, taking out trash, cleaning spills, and ensuring the overall tidiness of the camp facilities, in collaboration with other staff members; this also includes assisting with laundry duties for camp linens and towels. Assists with basic food preparation tasks like setting up serving lines, portioning food, distributing food to campers in a timely and organized manner, while accommodating dietary restrictions. Lifeguards will adhere to the IA food safety guidelines and proper hygiene practices while handling food. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the Boys Town Model. Knowledge of water safety. Basic practices and etiquette of operating a boat. Knowledge of laws and regulations when using a lake. The Boys Town Youth Associate role is dedicated to allowing Boys Town youth the opportunity to learn, grow, and work as part of the Boys Town community. Works on a variety of tasks to support the Boys Town mission.

Various Part-Time positions available for work after school and on weekends. This role is only for Youth attending the Boys Town Education Center.

PLEASE NOTE: This role is only available for Youth currently attending the Boys Town Education Center.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Responsible for working on a variety of assigned administrative tasks.

  • Connect with supervisor to learn the duties and function of the area assigned.

  • Work alongside Boys Town employees to carry out basic functions to support the department needs.

  • Meet regularly with supervisor and other team leads to "check back", and complete projects as assigned.

  • Proactively demonstrate qualities of a positive and hardworking employee.

  • Build experience and work knowledge for future career growth.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to sort documents or other relevant materials quickly and correctly, according to need, including chronologic, numeric, or alphabetical order.

  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 16 years of age required.

  • Family Home Consultant approval required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
