Job Description - Control Operator-II The Operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all Plant equipment under their control in accordance with written plant procedures and under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and Plant Manager. The Operator can at times work with a Maintenance Mechanic on duty, who if needed can help assist with starting and/or stopping plant machinery and equipment. In the absence of specific orders and/or directives, the Operator exercises initiative, using experience and good judgment in Plant operation. Complies with company policies including those concerning safety and environmental.  Responsibilities   The Operator II takes work direction from the Main Operator IV on duty and/or Plant Lead, and reports to the Operations Manager. The following lists typical duties for the Energy Center Operator’s scope of work. Monitor and control the operation of all plant machinery and equipment including boilers, chillers, generators, and cooling towers. Monitor and be responsible for the effect on plant operations of all activities occurring in the Plant and in the Distribution System Operate–start, run, monitor, adjust, and stop–Plant machinery and equipment in a safe manner. Operate following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and assist in continual improvement. Monitor and record Plant operating parameters. Monitor customer consumption levels and demands via SCADA system. Perform tests of operating equipment as directed. Monitor water chemistry in the various plant water systems and adjust chemical feed systems as required. Be responsible for the Control Room’s appearance and housekeeping. Upgrade skills and knowledge of Plant systems, equipment, and components as directed or required. Have or work to obtain knowledge and/or skill sets held by Maintenance Mechanics Be willing to work overtime either scheduled or on short notice. Knowledge of pneumatic and electric controls desired Additional Duties as assigned. Working Conditions The operator will normally work within the control room setting in a thermal plant. Expectations to be able to work within a normal plant environment with stairs and ladders to access difficult spaces. Includes working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures, low light, and high humidity areas within the plant. The operator will work 8-hour shifts normally but can be assigned 12-hour shifts as scheduled by the Operations Supervisor to keep the plant manned as needed and to meet the city of Omaha boiler operating codes. To meet city codes an operator may be required to work overtime on short notice. Requirements High school education Mechanical aptitude and skill set required. Basic skills to learn complex systems and work under direction, but also to react to emergencies using judgment and intuitive skills. Familiar with personal computer operations and any digital equipment controls Sufficient physical attributes to be able to work in hot and cold locations, the ability to work on ladders, to lift up to 75 lbs., and to work standing for consecutive hours. Valid driver’s license Good lab technique for performing water tests. Experience desired with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) systems. Minimum 5 years of experience in the field is preferred. Previous experience operating high-pressure boilers, large electrical-driven chillers, large cooling towers, operating steam turbines, steam-driven pumps, dual-drive steam, and electric drive fans preferred. Triad Service Center is seeking a qualified Field Technician for service and repair of light industrial equipment in  the Omaha NE  area. Equipment that is commonly worked on are floor scrubbers, sweepers, handicapped carts, checkout lanes, paint shakers and other commercial customer equipment found in large retail / industrial locations. Technicians will also install, and service grease containment units used in conjunction with deep fryers. T his position would utilize a company vehicle regionally and therefore require a valid, good standing driver’s license. The position would be primarily Monday-Friday, averaging 40 hours a week. Vehicle, tablet, cell phone, PAID TRAINING provided. Starting Pay Range: $18-$24.   Our Technicians Typical Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities: Have Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose, repair and complete both service calls and scheduled PMs on light industrial equipment is essential for our mechanics. Successfully provide customer service by performing on-location preventative maintenance and repairs on customer equipment by performing job duties. Visually inspects, tests, and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. As well as dismantles machine parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems. Installs new or repaired parts; clean and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, belts, and other parts of machinery. Staying organized by Scheduling repairs and PM’s in similar locations on the same day, as time and location permits. Record keeping and reporting of work orders, parts, supplies ordering, and a daily agenda. Submits daily, work orders, daily agenda/timecards, parts orders, and all required paperwork. Treats company equipment (i.e. vehicle, tools, phone, tablet, credit card, and parts) as if they were his/her own and follows PM’s guidelines on company provided vehicle. Extra Travel up to an average of 300 miles per day The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Typically, Monday through Friday. Weekends and after hour work is possible provided customer is willing to pay emergency rates. On call status ends at 11 am EST on weekends and holidays Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly Dependability - Excellent attendance. Responds to service request in a timely manner. Follows instructions, responds to management direction. Takes responsibility for own actions. Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving skills.
