Job Description

At InnerPlant we are on a mission to transform farming by enabling crops to communicate directly with farmers. By tapping into plants' immune systems, InnerPlant engineers crops that emit optical signals detectable as far away as space when under attack by disease, pests, or other stressors.

We’re backed by leading industry and venture partners, including an alliance of North American farmers. InnerPlant is a place for people that believe they can make a difference and want to improve how decisions are made on the farm.

Position Description

The Agronomy Services Representative will be responsible for the successful deployment of the CropVoice system in Nebraska.  The CropVoice system is a new technology that takes the guesswork out of farming by using InnerPlant’s proprietary biosensors to inform agronomic decisions regarding the presence of fungal stressors in the field.  The Agronomy Services Representative will focus on introducing the technical components of the CropVoice system to farmers, retail partners, and contract researchers and providing continued support and information regarding insights offered by the CropVoice system throughout the growing season. In providing these services, the Agronomy Services Representative will work closely with product, biology and sales teams to provide information and guide decisions.  The successful candidate thrives in a dynamic start-up atmosphere, takes initiative to move projects forward, and works closely with customers and internal teams. The selected candidate will work remotely within the soybean growing areas of Nebraska.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educate and train growers, retail partners and other industry professionals on the benefits of the CropVoice system
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with retail agronomists, crop consultants and farmers
  • Build relationships with local research organizations and contract them to implement protocols and plots
  • Scout fields and plot locations during the growing season to understand local conditions including fungal and insect infestations on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support ag retailers and farmers by delivering agronomic insights, ensuring product adoption, and driving farmer success
  • Oversee field detection and remote sensing equipment  to ensure installment, accuracy and reliability of data collected from our plots
  • Analyze experimental data and generate reports to inform decision making
  • Provide data and images from our plots to support the development of marketing materials
  • Ensure all operations comply with all regulations and safety standards

Key Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of agronomic practices for corn and soybean production including an understanding of fungicide modes of action
  • Ability to summarize and teach complex information to multiple different audiences
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and planning skills
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with multiple different groups of people including retailers, farmers, internal researchers and internal sales teams

Requirements

  • Ability to travel overnight especially during the growing season to support the business and farmers
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
