Position Title: Senior Engineer

The Opportunity

Apply theory and principles of civil engineering in planning, designing, and overseeing fabrication of structures under the direction of engineering staff.

Responsibilities:

• Draft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities using calculator or computer.
• Read and review project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements.
• Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
• Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design, manufacturing or erection deficiencies and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes.
• Develop plans and estimate costs for the construction of structures.
• Prepare reports and document project activities and data.
• Respond to manufacturing plant and public suggestions and complaints.
• Evaluate facility to determine suitability for occupancy and square footage availability.
• Conduct materials test and analysis on prototypes using tools and equipment and applying engineering knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school)
• Minimum of 5 years or Professional Engineer's license
• Required: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, AutoCAD, or similar. Preferred: Visual Analysis or similar structural design and analysis program and Metal Building Software. Desired: Visual Basic Programming.
