The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the cybersecurity posture of the DoD Information Network (DODIN). This position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, principles, and practices and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team that balances people, operations, and technology. Key Responsibilities: Protect: Conduct vulnerability analyses and assessments to identify potential security weaknesses. Participate in red teaming exercises to simulate real-world cyber attacks and enhance defensive measures. Implement virus protection protocols and subscriber protection strategies. Provide training to personnel on cybersecurity best practices and awareness. Carry out information operations conditions (INFOCON) implementation and management of Information Assurance (IA) vulnerabilities. Monitor, Detect, Analyze, and Diagnose: Engage in continuous network security monitoring to detect potential intrusions and malicious activities. Analyze data for attack sensing and provide timely warnings and situational awareness to stakeholders. Utilize forensic techniques and tools to diagnose security incidents. Respond: Develop and execute incident response plans for cybersecurity incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery strategies. Prepare incident reports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders promptly. Sustain Capability: Draft and maintain Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and contracts related to cybersecurity services. Establish and enforce policies and procedures governing cybersecurity operations. Oversee the development, evaluation, and implementation of cyber technology solutions. Ensure appropriate personnel training and certification levels are met for effective cybersecurity service delivery. Assist in security administration and management of primary information systems supporting CSSP functions. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, preferably within government or military organizations. Certifications: Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent. Knowledge: Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, RMF, and DoD Directive 8530.01 . Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey cybersecurity information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additional Information: The CSSP Specialist will be expected to adhere to the established guidelines and standards including DOD Instruction (DODI) 8530.01 . Candidates should be familiar with the Evaluator Scoring Metrics (ESM) for self-assessment and provisioning of cybersecurity services to both classified and unclassified networks. Certifications: Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, RMF, and DoD Directive 8530.01.
Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey cybersecurity information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
 
Additional Information:
The CSSP Specialist will be expected to adhere to the established guidelines and standards including DOD Instruction (DODI) 8530.01. Candidates should be familiar with the Evaluator Scoring Metrics (ESM) for self-assessment and provisioning of cybersecurity services to both classified and unclassified networks.
