Green Top Farms logo
Green Top FarmsBrooklyn, NY
Must be able to work in a REFRIGERATED environment Green Top Farms was founded by a farmer-turned-public-school-teacher who was troubled by the lack of fresh, nutritious foods for many New York families. For the last ten years we have built a high volume food service, catering and delivery business. Throughout that time we have remained deeply involved in working to provide better food resources and education for school children, food pantries, and the broader community. We have also pursued our vision for a more sustainable and equitable food system. We spent the majority of our energies during the COVID Pandemic serving NYC City Agencies in the provision of food for the underserved, as well as non-profit agencies throughout NYC. Our mission is to build a more sustainable and equitable food system, starting by reconnecting consumers and local farmers. We believe the results of strengthening that connection are better nutrition, more tasty food, greater social justice, and reduced environmental impacts. Our menus reflect this attention to bringing nutritious, delicious food to those who need it most. About the Role We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Production Coordinator to help expedite and organize daily production in our 10,000 sq. ft. commissary kitchen. This role is essential to keeping our production team on track, ensuring that recipes are executed accurately, and that products move efficiently from prep to packaging to delivery. What You’ll Do: Expedite production to ensure recipes, orders, and prep lists are completed on time. Maintain flow between kitchen stations, packaging, and logistics. Coordinate with chefs, supervisors, and team members to keep production aligned with daily schedules. Monitor recipe scaling, labeling, and quality control. Assist in assigning daily tasks and rebalancing workload as needed. Support inventory checks, ingredient pulls, and replenishment of stations. Step in on the line when needed to keep production moving. Communicate with managers regarding any issues that may impact production timelines. Coordinate with chefs and supervisors to ensure the right staffing for each station. Adjust production plans in real time when unexpected changes happen (e.g., staff callouts, equipment failure, menu changes). Ensure that food safety protocols (HACCP, GMP, allergen control) are followed. Receiving deliveries (on SundayS when needed) Who You Are: 2+ years of experience in a high-volume food production or commissary environment.
