Job Responsibilities As a Food & Beverage Manager, you will directly manage associates in the Bar, Coffee Shop and Catering departments and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Your specific duties in this role will include: Direct, train and mentor all associates. Ensure all Owner and brand directed standards, initiatives, perspectives and programs are implemented, followed and supported. Assist with the development of sales strategies, marketing initiatives, revenue management initiatives, promotions & special events. Develop and maintain positive business relationships with all guests, vendors and other external partners. Conduct regular physical inspections to ensure all standards of excellence are being met. Develop and institute new wine lists and cocktail menus for the Bar and Catering. Coordinate and participate in the development and implementation of food menus for the Bar, Up/Down and Catering events with the Sales department as needed. Answer inquiries pertaining to policies and services. Assign duties and shifts to associates and observe performance to ensure adherence to company policies and established operating procedures. Ensure proper shift coverage including covering meal breaks and call offs. Ensure proper cash and key control procedures are followed. Ensure food quality and service standards are being maintained. Ensure proper food sanitation and food handling standards are being followed. Sell, coordinate and/or direct any private or special events (on site or off site) that may occur. Detailing such an event may include number of persons expected, display space desired, menu development and scheduling with the appropriate management and staff. Coordinate the details of each catering event such as number of persons expected, display space desired, and food service schedule with the appropriate management and staff. Ensure the proper set-up, break down and safe storage of all dining tables, service stations and bars for catering events. Ensure banquet rooms are set up according to event order and desires of group. Act as liaison between hotel and guest throughout catering events. Ensure proper tabulation of banquet checks and that checks are reviewed with guests. Attend staff meetings to discuss company policies and guest complaints, and to make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation. Monitor service by speaking with guests, reviewing guest satisfaction surveys and observing associates. Ensure effective departmental communication through logs, daily stand up meetings and monthly department meetings. Perform a variety of administrative tasks including maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies, maintaining department budget, processing department payroll, and handling any accounting and purchasing functions. Maintain up to date records and files. Provide information pertaining to hours and available services of the hotel, i.e. bar, Up/Down. Ensure the cleanliness of the Bar, Up/Down, Catering and surrounding areas. Job Requirements We are looking for a self-motivated Food & Beverage Manager with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations. Maintains a standard inventory of prep items according to the Prep Production Guide and the Display Cooking Prep Production Guide and updates the two guides as directed by management. Ensures optimum yield of products through the product cycle. Labels, dates, and rotates all bulk produce and prepped items. Ensures all food items are in approved, covered storage containers. Complete use and following of the buffet production system to insure quality and shelf life compliance. Job Responsibilities

As a Food & Beverage Manager, you will directly manage associates in the Bar, Coffee Shop and Catering departments and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Your specific duties in this role will include:

  • Direct, train and mentor all associates.
  • Ensure all Owner and brand directed standards, initiatives, perspectives and programs are implemented, followed and supported.
  • Assist with the development of sales strategies, marketing initiatives, revenue management initiatives, promotions & special events.
  • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with all guests, vendors and other external partners.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections to ensure all standards of excellence are being met.
  • Develop and institute new wine lists and cocktail menus for the Bar and Catering.
  • Coordinate and participate in the development and implementation of food menus for the Bar, Up/Down and Catering events with the Sales department as needed.
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to policies and services.
  • Assign duties and shifts to associates and observe performance to ensure adherence to company policies and established operating procedures.
  • Ensure proper shift coverage including covering meal breaks and call offs.
  • Ensure proper cash and key control procedures are followed.
  • Ensure food quality and service standards are being maintained.
  • Ensure proper food sanitation and food handling standards are being followed.
  • Sell, coordinate and/or direct any private or special events (on site or off site) that may occur. Detailing such an event may include number of persons expected, display space desired, menu development and scheduling with the appropriate management and staff.
  • Coordinate the details of each catering event such as number of persons expected, display space desired, and food service schedule with the appropriate management and staff.
  • Ensure the proper set-up, break down and safe storage of all dining tables, service stations and bars for catering events.
  • Ensure banquet rooms are set up according to event order and desires of group.
  • Act as liaison between hotel and guest throughout catering events.
  • Ensure proper tabulation of banquet checks and that checks are reviewed with guests.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss company policies and guest complaints, and to make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
  • Monitor service by speaking with guests, reviewing guest satisfaction surveys and observing associates.
  • Ensure effective departmental communication through logs, daily stand up meetings and monthly department meetings.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks including maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies, maintaining department budget, processing department payroll, and handling any accounting and purchasing functions.
  • Maintain up to date records and files.
  • Provide information pertaining to hours and available services of the hotel, i.e. bar, Up/Down.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the Bar, Up/Down, Catering and surrounding areas.

Job Requirements

We are looking for a self-motivated Food & Beverage Manager with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations. It is also important that you have excellent communication skills.

Specific qualifications for the role include:

  • 1 to 3 years related experience in food service management
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
