Follows Federal and State regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures. Follows cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Takes daily attendance and prepares tray tickets. Attends and participates in training, in-services and staff meetings. Performs all other duties assigned under the direction of the Registered Dietitian and Center Manager. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: High School diploma or GED required. Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification with the American National Standards Institution (ANSI) required. Current CPR card required. Long term care or hospital food service experience. Knowledge of basic computer skills (MS Outlook and MS Word) required. Knowledge of therapeutic diets parameters. Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships. Job Description

The dietary associate at the PACE Southeast Michigan performs routine functions in the dietary department including food preparation, food service, cleaning and other duties assigned under the direction of the Registered Dietitian and Center Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the preparation of food and is responsible for serving meals, snacks, beverages and nutrition supplements using portion control and applicable sanitation practices.
  • Prepares meals in accordance to diet orders and ensures participants are served the appropriate meal in a timely manner.
  • Washes, sanitizes and stores dishes and adaptive feeding equipment.
  • Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies. Ensures proper labeling of food placed into storage.
  • Ensures that equipment is maintained. Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Registered Dietitian.
  • Follows fire safety, infection control practices and hazardous chemical practices, and uses cleaners and other hazardous materials in accordance with facility policy.
  • Follows Federal and State regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures.
  • Follows cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Takes daily attendance and prepares tray tickets.
  • Attends and participates in training, in-services and staff meetings.
  • Performs all other duties assigned under the direction of the Registered Dietitian and Center Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification with the American National Standards Institution (ANSI) required.
  • Current CPR card required.
  • Long term care or hospital food service experience.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills (MS Outlook and MS Word) required.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets parameters.
  • Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships.
  • Shows respect for the physical, spiritual, and well-being of participants and co-workers.
  • Ability to problem solve and interpret instructions.
