KidStrong Coach Responsibilities: Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, age groups range from roughly 12 months old to 11 years old with 2 coaches per class Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum Greet students as well as the parent(s)/guardian(s) individually prior to and at the beginning of class Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading the class Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift Effectively use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.) Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers Complete training through LearnUpon as required by the HQ Training and Certification team Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lifting and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight. Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety. Description JOB SUMMARY The Education Evaluation Coordinator plays an important role in supporting continuous improvement within the Dallas Zoo’s education programs by coordinating and implementing evaluation activities. Working under the guidance of the Senior Director of Education, this position helps carry out data collection efforts, organize and summarize findings, and contribute ideas and resources to enhance the Zoo’s evaluation practices. This position is responsible for compiling, formatting, and presenting evaluation data, as well as assisting with analysis and reporting to inform program development. While this role does not independently design or direct evaluation strategy, it plays a critical part in implementing tools, preparing data summaries, and supporting the Education team in measuring impact and outcomes. This is a grant-funded, full-time hourly position supported by a two-year grant, with continuation contingent upon future funding. The position may require occasional weekend, evening, or holiday work as needed. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluation Coordination & Implementation • Coordinate and conduct evaluation activities across education programs, including Wild Earth Preschool, school-based programs, and public engagement opportunities. • Administer surveys, assessments, observations, and other tools to gather data from children, families, and guests • Support the use of Kindergarten readiness assessments within the licensed preschool and assist preschool staff with child portfolios and formative assessments. • Contribute to the introduction and implementation of new evaluation strategies and tools, in alignment with departmental goals and in collaboration with senior staff. • Recommend innovative approaches or practices based on research or peer institution models for consideration by senior staff. Data Analysis & Reporting • Input and maintain qualitative and quantitative data using Microsoft Excel and other software as appropriate. • Organize and prepare summary charts, tables, and visualizations for internal review. • Assist in preparing written updates, infographics, and verbal summaries for internal reporting and program improvement. • Participate in data analysis discussions and contribute to understanding trends and outcomes. Capacity Building & Collaboration • Collaborate with the Education Leadership Team to support measurable programmatic objectives, creating and implementing evaluation plans. • Assist with information gathering for grant requests, with specific attention to supporting the development of clear and measurable goals and objectives. • Train and support staff and volunteers in using evaluation methods and data collection. • Facilitate workshops and provide coaching to build evaluation capacity within the Education Department. • Connect with evaluation departments and professionals at peer institutions, creating and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships. • Stay apprised of current research and methods in the field of informal learning evaluation. Overview Instruction to undergraduate students in the Math and Math Education programs, as well as math in developmental and general education. Adjunct faculty members teach courses, fulfill the major responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President for Academics and dictated in the job description, and exercise spiritual leadership with their students. Faculty members report to and are accountable to the Department Chair, College Dean, any local Administrative Dean when serving at an Extension Site, and the Vice President for Academics. OPEN ROLE
  • We are looking for coaches with an athletic or coaching background who ideally have experience coaching kids ages 14 mo-11 years old
  • Our classes run typically weekdays, 9 am - 11 am and evenings until 8 pm, and weekends are typically from 8 am through 2pm. 
  • Opportunity for a flexible work schedule depending on studio needs. 
  • Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party coaching hours, summer camp, parents night out, and field trips. 
 KidStrong Coach Responsibilities: 
  • Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, age groups range from roughly 12 months old to 11 years old with 2 coaches per class
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
  • Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum
  • Greet students as well as the parent(s)/guardian(s) individually prior to and at the beginning of class
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading the class
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
  • Effectively use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers
  • Complete training through LearnUpon as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lifting and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
  • Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
  • Assist parents of students ages three and younger with the direction and flow of a class
  • Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next month's curriculum
  • Must obtain certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team
