This faculty member is expected to support curriculum design and delivery of neuroscience discipline content in the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM), Total Health Curriculum (THC). The THC is an 18-month integrated, active learning-based curriculum. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications. GCSOM was established in Scranton, PA, in 2008 through the grassroots efforts of visionary individuals who foresaw what a community-based medical school would bring to the region and worked to make it a reality. GCSOM is part of Geisinger College of Health Sciences and includes a School of Nursing, School of Graduate Education and a Research Institute distributed over six regional campuses. This position is based in the Scranton, PA, campus. Job Duties: Major Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a member of a faculty pharmacology team and work in collaboration with team members to develop and deliver integrated Pharmacology content for the medical and graduate programs. Participate in the development of formative and summative assessments. Develop or participate in collaborative scholarship in medical education or field of expertise/interest. Supervise/mentor medical students scholarly projects. Participate in medical student interviewing and selection process. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, trainings, workshops, the current literature and professional affiliations regarding trends and practices in medical education and field of expertise/interest. Participate in service to the department, institution, or field of interest. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Experience with active learning/flipped classroom/evidence-based pedagogy (e.g., Case Based Learning, simulation, Team Based Learning) is preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability or potential for developing scholarship in medical education or field of expertise/interest that comports with academic rank. Preferred candidates will have experience in course development/leadership and/or leading teams of faculty. The Department of Medical Education invites applications for an open rank (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor), full-time faculty position (1.0 FTE) in the field of Pharmacology. This faculty member is expected to support curriculum design and delivery of neuroscience discipline content in the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM), Total Health Curriculum (THC). The THC is an 18-month integrated, active learning-based curriculum. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications. GCSOM was established in Scranton, PA, in 2008 through the grassroots efforts of visionary individuals who foresaw what a community-based medical school would bring to the region and worked to make it a reality.
