Certifications: CLASS Reliability Certificates (Infant / Toddlers and PreK) are required. Candidates who do not possess the CLASS Reliability Certificates (Infant / Toddlers and PreK) will have 12 months from their start date to earn the CLASS Reliability Certificate related associated with the predominant population (Infant/Toddlers or Pre-K) in the center. Candidates will have an additional 6 months to obtain the remaining CLASS Reliability Certificate. If the program serves only one age group of children, only the applicable CLASS Reliability Certificate is needed. If CLASS Reliability is not completed successfully on the first attempt, an employee may choose to retake the course at the employee's expense within 90 days of the unsuccessful completion of the course. IF the employee does not seek a second attempt for successful completion of the certificate, the employee will be separated from employment. Work Experience: Experience with children with disabilities and preferred collaboration with community partners. Experience collaborating with community partners preferred. Critical Action Items: 1. Design, deliver and monitor coaching systems aligned with HSPPS§1302.31 2. Ensure staff, consultants, contractors, and volunteers protect the physical and mental health and safety of our children and no child is left alone or unsupervised while under our care. (HSPPS §1302.90) 3. Provide reflective supervision and mentoring for Education Coaches I-II 4. Monitor and evaluate the classroom environment and implementation of prescribed curricula to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences in language, literacy, social and emotional development, math, science, social studies, creative arts, and physical development, and integrate child assessment data in individual and group planning. (HSPPS §1302.31, 1302.32) 5. Monitor compliance with positive adult-child interactions as measured by the CLASS: Pre-K instrument. (HSPPS §1304.16) 6. Implement tools that support screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluation of a child’s developmental level and progress in outcomes. (HSPPS §1302.33) 7. Identify opportunities for parents and family members to engage in their child’s development and in program services, including but not limited to parent conferences and group activities. (HSPPS §1302.34) 8. Follow appropriate practices to keep children safe during all activities, including reporting at a minimum suspected or known child abuse and neglect, appropriate supervision of children at all times; and all standards of conduct. (HSPPS §1302.47, §1302.90) 9. Complete minimum training requirements as specified in state and federal standards. (HSPPS §1302.92) 10. Create weekly lesson plans which reflect opportunities for positive adult-child interactions, including individualized curriculum. 11. Schedule regular communication with Education Team to ensure they are well-informed about their teacher’s progress and professional plans. Will develop individualized coaching plans using CLASS outcomes, data and observations. 12. Monitor the completion of all required child screenings and assessments and that they’re on time. 13. Monitor & ensure the organization of child files, classroom forms, and other documentation while confirming documents are current and compliant. 14. Monitor the classroom to make certain it is free from physical and environmental hazards. 15. Provide oversight of Incident reporting to ensure it occurs within the timeframes designated in program policy and protocol. 16. Serve as instructional advisor to the INK Grant Director. Other Responsibilities: 1. Evaluate the implementation of and provide feedback on curricula, equipment, supplies and physical space for indoor and outdoor learning environments. 2. Share data used to monitor the quality of instruction and classroom environments, including adult-child interactions, and provide recommendations for continued professional development. 3. Identify potential interference with a child’s development and school readiness and coordinate with education, family, mental health and/or child development professional program staff to address identified needs. 4. Participate in grant/center functions, scheduled meetings and team decision and operations. 5. Work collaboratively with supervisors, peers, other staff members, service providers, and professionals. 6. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of child and program operations. 7. Lead PD sessions, new staff orientations, and ongoing trainings. 8. Participate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary planning. 9. Perform other job duties as assigned. Requirements: 1. Job Description

Education:    Bachelor’s or advanced degree in early childhood education or a Bachelor’s or advanced degree and equivalent coursework in early childhood education with early education teaching experience.

Certifications:            CLASS Reliability Certificates (Infant / Toddlers and PreK) are required. Candidates who do not possess the CLASS Reliability Certificates (Infant / Toddlers and PreK) will have 12 months from their start date to earn the CLASS Reliability Certificate related associated

with the predominant population (Infant/Toddlers or Pre-K) in the center. Candidates will have an additional 6 months to obtain the remaining CLASS Reliability Certificate.

If the program serves only one age group of children, only the applicable CLASS Reliability Certificate is needed.

If CLASS Reliability  is not completed successfully on the first attempt, an employee may choose to retake the course at the employee's expense within 90 days of the unsuccessful completion of the course.  IF  the employee does not seek a second attempt for successful completion of the certificate, the employee will be separated from employment.

Work Experience:    Experience with children with disabilities and preferred collaboration with community partners. Experience collaborating with community partners preferred. 

Critical Action Items:
  • 1. Design, deliver and monitor coaching systems aligned with HSPPS§1302.31
  • 2. Ensure staff, consultants, contractors, and volunteers protect the physical and mental health and safety of our children and no child is left alone or unsupervised while under our care. (HSPPS §1302.90)
  • 3. Provide reflective supervision and mentoring for Education Coaches I-II
  • 4. Monitor and evaluate the classroom environment and implementation of prescribed curricula to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences in language, literacy, social and emotional development, math, science, social studies, creative arts, and physical development, and integrate child assessment data in individual and group planning. (HSPPS §1302.31, 1302.32)
  • 5. Monitor compliance with positive adult-child interactions as measured by the CLASS: Pre-K instrument. (HSPPS §1304.16)
  • 6. Implement tools that support screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluation of a child’s developmental level and progress in outcomes. (HSPPS §1302.33)
  • 7. Identify opportunities for parents and family members to engage in their child’s development and in
  • program services, including but not limited to parent conferences and group activities. (HSPPS §1302.34)
  • 8. Follow appropriate practices to keep children safe during all activities, including reporting at a minimum suspected or known child abuse and neglect, appropriate supervision of children at all times; and all standards of conduct. (HSPPS §1302.47, §1302.90)
  • 9. Complete minimum training requirements as specified in state and federal standards. (HSPPS §1302.92)
  • 10. Create weekly lesson plans which reflect opportunities for positive adult-child interactions, including individualized curriculum.
  • 11. Schedule regular communication with Education Team to ensure they are well-informed about their teacher’s progress and professional plans. Will develop individualized coaching plans using CLASS outcomes, data and observations. 
  • 12. Monitor the completion of all required child screenings and assessments and that they’re on time.
  • 13. Monitor & ensure the organization of child files, classroom forms, and other documentation while confirming documents are current and compliant.
  • 14. Monitor the classroom to make certain it is free from physical and environmental hazards.
  • 15. Provide oversight of Incident reporting to ensure it occurs within the timeframes designated in program policy and protocol.
  • 16. Serve as instructional advisor to the INK Grant Director. Other Responsibilities:
  • 1. Evaluate the implementation of and provide feedback on curricula, equipment, supplies and physical space for indoor and outdoor learning environments.
  • 2. Share data used to monitor the quality of instruction and classroom environments, including adult-child interactions, and provide recommendations for continued professional development.
  • 3. Identify potential interference with a child’s development and school readiness and coordinate with education, family, mental health and/or child development professional program staff to address identified needs.
  • 4. Participate in grant/center functions, scheduled meetings and team decision and operations.
  • 5. Work collaboratively with supervisors, peers, other staff members, service providers, and professionals.
  • 6. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of child and program operations.
  • 7. Lead PD sessions, new staff orientations, and ongoing trainings. 
  • 8. Participate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary planning.
  • 9. Perform other job duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

  • 1. Demonstrate the ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • 2. Communicate in writing and verbally in English and Spanish (preferred).
  • 3. Demonstrated ability to maintain emotional control, and professional composure at all times.
  • 4. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
  • 5. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all INK policies and procedures.
  • 6. Ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • 7. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • 8. Ability to work independently.
  • 9. Possess a valid driver’s license
  • 10. Complete and pass health examination
  • 11. Confirm work eligibility status
  • 12. Successfully pass driving history check
  • 13. Clear criminal background check
  • 14. Required to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • 15. Required to stand, sit on the floor, bend, squat, kneel, lift children, and engage with children.
  • 16. Exposure to communicable diseases, and other hazards such as cigarette smoke, pets, at risk neighborhoods, etc.
  • 17. Travel up to 50% by car, bus, airplane, or train may also be required associated with attendance at conferences, meetings and other duties carried out at distant locations in and out of state and in some cases where some overnight travel may be required.
  • 18. Some evenings and weekend work may occasionally be required for events such as home visits, parent teacher conferences, Parent Committee meetings, community, and social events such as field trips.English (United States)
