ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following) Performs daily housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, dusting, moving furniture, etc. Maintains building’s carpets using carpet extraction equipment including pre-spotters, detergent, and biohazard kits as required. Grounds keeping - including grass mowing, trimming of shrubs, leaf blowing, snow shoveling, and ice removal. Performs a wide variety of routine inspection, repairs, and maintenance tasks in the area of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work. This includes but is not limited to: clearing stoppages in sinks/toilets/sewer lines, replacing floor tiles, repairing screens and windows, and drywall and painting. We are currently partnering with a valued client to recruit a skilled Special Education Teacher to join their team for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Job Description As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality education and support to students with a variety of special needs. You will work closely with other educators, parents, and staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement strategies that help students achieve their academic and social goals. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement personalized learning plans (IEPs) based on students’ needs, strengths, and challenges Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in both individual and small group settings Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and teaching methods as needed Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as required to ensure academic success Maintain accurate records of students' progress, evaluations, and communication with parents and school staff Provide support and encouragement to students to foster a positive learning environment Participate in IEP meetings and work collaboratively with parents and other professionals Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for special education services Promote inclusivity, diversity, and social-emotional learning within the classroom Education & Certification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field Valid New Mexico state teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain) Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a K-12 setting Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to create a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment Why Choose Los Alamos, New Mexico?
