Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Conducts educational school enrichment programs for up to 5,000 youth annually.
- Assists with County 4-H activities including, Family and Community Health programs, BLT, Natural Resources, AG, and Bell County Youth Fair.
- Provides assistance and information related to 4-H program; assist with enrollment.
- Must have a sincere desire to work with volunteer leaders and youth.
- Assists with cash management and recordkeeping.
- Prepares and maintains newsletter, flyers, brochures and other promotional materials.
- Maintains AgriLife 4-H, FCH, and update Extension websites and provides technology assistance as needed within department.
- Organizational experience and computer skills.
- Must be familiar with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
- Knowledge of WordPress, Canva and other computer software are desired but not required.
- Procures supplies and equipment as needed.
- Provides reception and administrative support.
- Performs related work as required.
- Some nights and weekends are required and travel outside the office may be required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by four (4) years of 4-H programs, agricultural education, clerical or office experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Physical Demands:
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment):
- Involves routine and frequent exposure to:
- Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen.
- Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions.
- Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife.
- Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors.
- Traffic.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
