Overview
Job Description
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's educational goals.
- Provide specialized instruction and academic support in resource and inclusion classroom settings.
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum, accommodations, and instructional strategies that promote student success in the general education classroom.
- Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and effective classroom management techniques.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with administrators, therapists, school psychologists, related service providers, and families to ensure coordinated student support.
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities.
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student independence, confidence, and academic growth.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district special education regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field preferred.
- Active Special Education teaching certification required (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience providing services in a resource, inclusion, or collaborative classroom setting preferred.
- Experience supporting elementary-aged students with a variety of learning disabilities and educational needs preferred.
- Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Passion for helping students achieve their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
- School-based assignment serving elementary school students.
- Resource and inclusion classroom model with opportunities for both small-group instruction and classroom collaboration.
- Collaborative multidisciplinary team including administrators, therapists, school psychologists, and related service providers.
- Student-centered environment focused on academic achievement, inclusion, and individualized support.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $45/hour (dependent on experience)
