Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL state learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential. Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL state professional educator (PEL) administrative endorsement. Minimum 1yr prior experience working in an education leadership role, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting. Prior experience and/or knowledge in alternative educational services for at-risk students with diverse needs at various levels. Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders and/or other related disabilities. Effective management skills and comprehensive knowledge of administrative and school operations, recruitment and retention strategies, and compliance requirements. Well-versed in effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's). Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in the development, assessment, and management of curriculum, content areas and instruction. Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's). Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals. Advanced skill in providing training, professional development and/or coaching to teachers and education staff. Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and performance motivation ability. Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment. Skilled leader who exhibits the characteristics of servant leadership, looking to the needs of the team and seeking to help solve problems and promote personal development. Job Description

We are seeking a Project Architect with 8-10+ years of experience to join our Austin office, bringing expertise in K-12 and/or Higher Education design and a passion for innovation. This role involves leading the technical development of projects, collaborating with teams, and ensuring the successful execution of design and construction documentation.

As a Project Architect on the Perkins&Will team, you will:

  • Be responsible for planning, developing, and executing technical documentation which may include interpreting, organizing, and coordinating project team assignments
  • Direct and coordinate production of schematic, design development and construction documents in collaboration with Project Manager
  • Perform construction administration duties (e.g., RFI's, RFP's, change orders, etc.)
  • Execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.)
  • Establish budget, task schedule, and other components of the work plan with Project Manager
  • Participate in marketing efforts and may lead presentations to prospective clients
  • Work with engineering consultants through schematic and design development phases
  • Direct, organize, and mentor junior staff with responsibility for oversight
  • Utilize your rock star technical skills in Revit and other design application software
  • Work hard, play hard, and learn a lot along the way!

To join us, you should have:

  • A professional degree in Architecture, Design, or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience including K-12 and/or Higher Education experience
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software; Revit strongly preferred
  • Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts of junior staff
  • Experience in all phases and aspects of a project
  • Familiarity with building codes, specifications, building and engineering systems
  • Understanding of project management process
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic
  • LEED AP within 1 year of hire
  • Licensure required
