Job Description
Job Title: Payroll Manager | Tier: 2 |
Type of Position: Full-Time, Regular | Schedule: (TBD by Supervisor) |
Location: Anchorage, AK | Travel Requirements: Minimal travel may be required |
FLSA Classification: Exempt | Reports to: Corporate Controller |
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the VP of Finance and Accounting, this position is responsible for managing all payroll related activities for the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise and oversee the timely and accurate processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls
- Review time entered by employees for accuracy and compliance with company policy
- Prepare tax deposits and returns as required for monthly, semi-monthly, quarterly, and annual federal and multi states
- Prepare and reconcile payroll liability accounts
- Review and implement payroll specific requirements of Union CBA's
- Assist employees with questions regarding paychecks, deductions, or garnishments
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Performs incidental tasks related to the position as well as various duties, as assigned, to support the overall objectives/goals of the team while maintaining a positive attitude
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred and/or 5+ years' experience processing payroll
- Experience with Service Contract Act, Davis Bacon, and Union CBA's preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and a data collaboration tool such as SharePoint
- Deltek Costpoint experience preferred
- UKG experience preferred
- Experience with Alaska Native Corporations and government contracting preferred but not required
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in an office setting and interfaces with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.
