In this role, you will stand in for lead teachers who are absent, ensuring that students continue to receive a high-quality education and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. Substitute Teachers are expected to follow lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and support student learning. RESPONSIBILITIES Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment by implementing effective discipline strategies and addressing any behavioral issues in accordance with school policies. Instructional Delivery: Follow lesson plans provided by the lead teacher to deliver instruction and ensure students stay on track with their educational goals. Student Engagement: Facilitate student learning by engaging students in classroom activities, fostering a supportive learning environment, and providing assistance as needed. Record Keeping: Take attendance, track student progress, and manage any necessary paperwork as directed by the regular teacher or school administration. Communication: Collaborate with school staff to address any concerns or issues that arise during the day and provide feedback on the day's activities and student performance. Adaptability: Be prepared to teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, and adjust to different teaching styles and classroom environments as needed. Reporting : The academic day begins at 7:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM .The Substitute Teacher must report to the school's administrative office upon arrival and departure from each assignment. THE ROLE

We are seeking dedicated and adaptable individuals to join our team as On-Call Substitute Teachers. In this role, you will stand in for lead teachers who are absent, ensuring that students continue to receive a high-quality education and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. Substitute Teachers are expected to follow lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and support student learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment by implementing effective discipline strategies and addressing any behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.
  • Instructional Delivery: Follow lesson plans provided by the lead teacher to deliver instruction and ensure students stay on track with their educational goals.
  • Student Engagement: Facilitate student learning by engaging students in classroom activities, fostering a supportive learning environment, and providing assistance as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Take attendance, track student progress, and manage any necessary paperwork as directed by the regular teacher or school administration.
  • Communication: Collaborate with school staff to address any concerns or issues that arise during the day and provide feedback on the day's activities and student performance.
  • Adaptability: Be prepared to teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, and adjust to different teaching styles and classroom environments as needed.
  • Reporting: The academic day begins at 7:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM.The Substitute Teacher must report to the school's administrative office upon arrival and departure from each assignment.

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs., kneel, sit, or stand for extended periods.

ASSIGNMENT NOTIFICATION

  • HCS will work to notify substitutes as early as possible.
  • Substitutes can expect to be contacted the day before they are expected on campus; in emergency situations Substitutes may receive notice of assignments in the morning on the day they are expected on campus.
  • Substitutes may accept or decline the assignment at their discretion.

COMPENSATION 

  • Compensation for this role is $285 per day.
