The Opportunity:
Driving better future mobility. A leading provider of core components for global car manufacturers, VS Company is supporting the emerging trend of the vehicle industry.
Position Location: Aliso Viejo, CA
As the Validation Engineer, you will:
- Perform validation for infotainment/telematic products by utilizing test benches and vehicles
- Responsible for executing basic Sanity, customer found issues, updated specification from customer and full test cases
- Analyze test results to determine if product meet specifications
- Ceate/maintain test cases per product specifications
- Utilize tracking system to report and track product defects
- Test bench setup / SW updates
- Field Test / Joint field test with OEM
- OEM Support (frequent visiting, fixing damaged OEM's HU by update tools, SW status drive)
- Maintain relationships with overseas counterparts to effectively share information and resolve issues
- Support to resolve technical issues
- Support and communicate with R&D team, not only in North America but other regions such as Korea
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Ability to travel (Domestic & International)
- Ability to sit in/drive test vehicle for up to 3 hours at a time for testing
- Knowledge of:
- Test bench and vehicle setup
- In-car infotainment systems technologies
- Specifications and ability to analyze test results
- Process on how to create test cases with the appropriate test case structure
- How to interface with the bug tracking system
- Vehicle communication protocols
- Ability to:
- Lift/Setup benches weighing up to 30lbs
- Sit in/drive test vehicle for up to 3 hours at a time for testing
- Learn and adapt to new software and hardware tools and technologies
- Work across multiple disciplines (systems, embedded, server, wireless carriers, testing)
- Recognize and mitigate both technical and organizational challenges
- Travel up to 30%
- Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies
- Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English / Korean)
