Primary Responsibilities: Identify appropriate assignment of ICD - 10 - CM and ICD - 10 - PCS Codes for inpatient services provided in a hospital setting and understand their impact on the DRG with reference to CC / MCC, while adhering to the official coding guidelines and established client coding guidelines of the assigned facility Abstract additional data elements during the Chart Review process when coding, as needed Adhere to the ethical standards of coding as established by AAPC and / or AHIMA Adhere to and maintain required levels of performance in both coding quality and productivity as established by Optum360 Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when appropriate Maintain up - to - date Coding knowledge by reviewing materials disseminated / recommended by the QM Manager, Coding Operations Managers, and Director of Coding / Quality Management, etc. Participate in coding department meetings and educational events Review and maintain a record of charts coded, held, and / or missing You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED (or higher) Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P CPC, OR CPC-H) to be maintained annually 3+ years of experience with Acute Care Inpatient medical coding (hospital, facility, etc.) 3+ years of experience working in a Level II trauma center and/or teaching hospital with a mastery of complex procedures, major trauma ER encounters, cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, orthopedic and neurology cases, and observation coding 3+ years of experience with ICD - 10 (CM & PCS) and DRG coding Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements including, but not limited to, drug screening, background check, and coding Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of outpatient facility coding experience Experience with OSHPD reporting Experience with various encoder systems (eCAC, 3M, EPIC) Ability to use a personal computer in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save, and send spreadsheets) and EMR systems All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. The salary range for this role is $23.70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. In this vital role you will be the technology product owner and client-facing lead responsible for driving emerging data, AI and ML capabilities for Amgen's Global Medical Team. As a leader within the Medical Technology Data & Analytics team, this role will require strong collaboration and partnership with a newly formed product team to deliver and sustain a layered ecosystem focused on DIAL (Data, Insights, Action, and Learning) via building of an Agentic AI framework in agile fashion. Key Responsibilities

  • Client facing Information Systems (IS) partner for the Medical Data & Analytics  team, partnering with various medical leaders and stakeholders in defining as well as prioritizing the backlog.
  • Co-create business value with the Medical Data & Analytics (MD&A) business team, as well as Medical capabilities teams using data and innovative AI & ML-based technologies delivered via a SAFe Agile product team
  • Be accountable for robust product governance via PI planning aligned to short- and long-term business and technology strategy needs
  • Partner with Engineering and Product Management to develop a roadmap, prioritize release scopes, and refine the Product backlog
  • Work closely with UX to align technical requirements, scenarios, and business process maps with User Experience designs
  • Implement a strategy to execute effective product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as an ambassador to champion adoption, foster knowledge sharing, and drive user engagement across Global Medical teams

  • Domain expertise in medical data and analytics
  • Strong understanding of various data sources in the medical affairs ecosystem
  • Excellent influencing skills and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with business partners and stakeholders, IS teams, and external service providers.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale data projects with a track record of delivering innovative and impactful solutions
  • Experience managing product features for PI planning and developing product roadmaps and user journeys
  • Proficiency leveraging cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks) for data analysis and data engineering solutions. Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and cost optimization strategies.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience developing and managing systems related to medical publications management, customer service and call center, and medical information management.
  • Familiarity with low-code, no-code test automation software
  • Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology (i.e. Jira, smartsheet, miro, etc.)
  • Proficiency with analytics and visualization tools (i.e. Databricks, Spotfire, PowerBI)
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD methodology
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills to address complex data challenges utilizing AI/ML frameworks (e.g. LLM for GenAI, Agent Frameworks)
  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management

Professional Certifications

  • SAFe for Teams certification (preferred)
