Perform blood draws Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing. Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation. Send outside labs to appropriate facility as dictated by patient’s insurance plan. Maintain test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists according to all regulatory agencies. Obtain vital signs, height, weight, pain level and PHQ9 depression screening of patient as requested by physician and document in the Onco/EMR system. Place patient in exam room and prepare for physician in a timely manner. The coder will review clinical documentation and diagnostic results as appropriate to extract data and apply appropriate ICD-10 Diagnosis codes, along with CPT/HCPCS codes as defined for the service type, for coding, billing, internal and external reporting, research as required, and regulatory compliance. Under the direction of the coding manager, the coder should accurately code conditions and procedures as documented and in accordance with ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, CMS/MAC rules and the CPT rules established by the AMA, and any other official coding guidelines established for use with mandated standard code sets. The coder scope may involve reviewing coding related denials from payers and recommending the appropriate action to resolve the claim based on payer guidelines. This position is full time as and 100% remote. Responsibilities: Demonstrates the ability to perform quality surgical coding on General and Trauma surgery chart types as assigned. Responsible for performing an age and diagnosis specific assessment designed to gather data relevant to the patient’s/resident’s/client’s individual needs. Utilizes exercise, soft tissue mobilization, joint manipulation, manual therapy techniques, equipment and physical and electrical modalities to improve strength, balance, coordination and range of motions, and to decrease pain to restore mobility and function. Provides education related to the treatment program, disease process, and prevention of further injuries to the patient/resident/client and family/caregiver and other members of the health care team. Delegates as necessary aspects of care to the PTA or Rehabilitation aide based on their job descriptions.

Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.

Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health System’s organization policies and procedures.

Education/License/Experience Requirements:

  • Physical Therapy Licensure, in Montana
  • Temporary licensure as governed by the State Practice Act
  • Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or graduate of accredited college or university with a DPT, Master’s degree, or BA degree in Physical Therapy or certification in Physical Therapy
  • Current BLS certification.
