By creating meaningful and engaging experiences, this position contributes to a program culture that supports not only physical growth but also social-emotional development and a strong sense of belonging within the community.
Who This Role Is Ideal For:
This position is ideal for individuals who believe in the power of sports to strengthen communities, mentor youth, and promote healthy lifestyles. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with elementary-aged children required.
- Background in coaching, recreation, physical education, or youth development preferred.
- Strong in lesson planning, group management, and communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable, positive, and committed to serving the community.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and facilitate structured sports and physical activities for elementary-aged youth.
- Teach fundamental skills in sports such as basketball, soccer, kickball, group games, and fitness activities.

- Ensure student safety through active supervision and adherence to program policies.
- Set up, maintain, and organize equipment and activity spaces.
- Support positive behavior using youth development best practices.

EXPECTED HOURS/TYPICAL SHIFT:
Part-Time | Afternoons (from 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position takes place in a dynamic after-school program environment serving elementary-aged youth. Activities occur in gymnasiums, playgrounds, classrooms, and outdoor recreation spaces.
