JOB DESCRIPTION: The cashier position is critical to the daily success of the restaurant. It's a guest facing job; often the first touch point with the guest beyond the "Welcome to Firehouse" greeting. JOB DESCRIPTION:

The cashier position is critical to the daily success of the restaurant. It's a guest facing job; often the first touch point with the guest beyond the "Welcome to Firehouse" greeting.

The right candidate for the cashier position is someone who is excited to work with other people and possesses the skills necessary to get the job done right.

The Cashier is responsible to complete all restaurant tasks required to maintain a successful and profitable shift, including but not limited to:

Learning the entire Firehouse Subs menu and offering and successfully completing menu tours for guests

Offering helpful information to guest regarding menu selection

Training of new staff members

Participating in daily and weekly sales initiatives

Actively suggestive selling to guests

Receiving payments on behalf of the company

Counting and giving proper change to guests in all transactions

Exhibiting GREAT customer service to drive sales and guest satisfaction

Mitigating employee employer liabilities through proper protocol adherence and standards

Acknowledging and becoming fluent in local standards and health department standards for restaurants and executing those standards to a level of excellence on all shifts worked

Encouraging and promoting a positive culture inside and outside of the restaurant in your actions

Hours per week: 10-40

Job Requirements:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent menu and product knowledge.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of the guest's order.
  • Able to communicate effectively with guests and handle questions and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Proficient use of the POS system.
  • Accuracy of the cash drawer.
  • Team player.
  • Thank the guest sincerely for their business.
  • Participates in all Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintains an organized, stocked, and sanitary workspace.
  • Able and willing to complete other restaurant functions such as food preparation or cleaning, per management direction, or any other duties assigned by the general manager, assistant manager, or shift leader.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, adhering to all established food and safety guidelines.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
