Mark Twain Health Care District dBA Valley Springs Health & Wellness Center is seeking a full-time, experienced, Medical Claims Billing Specialist who can lead a team of three billers who work on-site.

*No billing services, please. This is an onsite position only*

This is not an entry level position and there is a person who will assist with training

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of medical billing and revenue cycle experience
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and payer reimbursement methodologies
• Experience supporting physicians or Medical Directors
• Proficiency with EHR, Athena billing systems preferred
• Proficient in Excel and various reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in rural health clinics, community health centers, or healthcare districts
• Professional billing and strong knowledge of payee guidelines
• Experience participating in strategic or cross-functional healthcare initiatives

Applicants need to provide a letter of interest, a resume, and references. Applicants will have two interviews on-site. During the interview the applicant will be given time to ask questions.The position is ONSITE ONLY available starting March 1, 2026. Wages range from $24-$35 per hour, commensurate with billing experience, leadership potential and a successful interview.
