What You’ll Do

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical/telemetry unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including those with sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, and post-op patients (total joint surgeries, gastrointestinal surgeries, etc.)
• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders
• Manage wound care, JP drains, wound vacs, and hemodialysis catheter care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and support staff
• Ensure accurate documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Maintain compliance with unit standards and pass required competency exams (including EKG) before start

What You Need

• Current RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• 2+ years of recent RN experience in acute medical-surgical or telemetry units
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Strong wound management and IV skills
• Ability to pass MedSurg RN EKG competency exam
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

About the AssignmentJoin a modern healthcare facility in Shreveport, offering a dynamic environment for professional growth. The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including EMR (Meditech Expanse), IV pumps (Alaris), and Pyxis medication dispensing. Travelers will float within the Med/Surg units as needed and will receive excellent support from the hospital staff.
