Job Description

Our projects are typically for marine, oil & gas, defense, civil (movable bridges) and industrial power unit applications. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible and has authority for coordinating and managing the various aspects of project design through project commissioning.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead project team.
  • Liaise with customers, operations, engineering, and production in order to ensure that the project is completed on-time and according to specifications.
  • Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program to conform to ISO 9001 and understand the implications of not complying with the quality management system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Fluid Power certification a plus.

Experience

  • Five (5) years’ experience in a related field.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Self-motivated with excellent communication, teamwork, and customer interfacing skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to formulate and document a high level plan with input from many functional groups.
  • Ability to communicate ideas persuasively, gain support and commitment from others, inspire others to take action, and lead by example.
  • Ability to organize and assign work to best use the skills, knowledge, and experience of employees.
  • Ability to maintain positive interactions with staff and management.
  • Ability to work under pressure of schedules.
